Dear Sir:
The Board of City Commissioners, at ha meeting today, passed the
following ordinances:
BILL NO. 190 of l9i4; Amending Subsection(2)of faction 49-6-1 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah-1963, to provide for a five cent(s$)
sasoharge by taxicabs to cover the increase
of the cost of gasoline.
DILL NO. 131 of 1974: REPEALING BILL NO. 123 of 1974, relating
to taxicab rates, inasmuch as it was inadv
vertantly placed wider Title 41 in error.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Subsection 2 of Section 41-6-1 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to taxicab
rates.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Subsection two (2) of Section 41-6-1 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to taxicab
rates, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 41-6-1. Rates for hire established. * * *
(1) * * *
"(2) Mill age rates: Fifty-five cents for the first
one-fcli$tth mile or frac ipn thereof and ten cents for
each additional one-4dulth mile or fraction thereof.
In addition to the above rate, an additional five cents
per trip surcharge may be made to cover the cost of
gasoline, provided that notice of said surcharge is
posted in a conspicuous place and manner on the taxi's
rate card."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
it necessary to the peace, health, and welfare of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this Ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt La City, Utah,
