HomeMy WebLinkAbout125 of 1905 - Ordinance 125 of 1905 – Amending and re-enacting part of Section 353, re: power of Land and Water AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE ENACTING that part of Section 353 Chapter XXVI of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, which reads as follows- after the words " fixed at Twelve Hundred Dollars per annum." DE IT ORDAINEllby the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah. ARTICLE 1 That Section 353 of Chapter XXVI,of the Revised Ordi- nances of Salt Lake City, be and the same is hereby amended and re-en- acted so as to read, after the words " fixed at" as follows. SECTION 353 Eighteen Hundred Dollars per annum. ARTICLE 2 Also that Section 353 of Chapter XXVI of the revised ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows; SECTION 353 The Land and Water Commissioner shall have power, subject to the approval of the City Council, to appoint the following named Deputies and assi -tarts. One Office Deputy at a salary of One Thousand. Dollars per annum. One Patrolman, with horse, for City Creek Canyon, at a salary of $2,50 per day, whose duty it shall be to keep the canyon clear of all rubbish and refuse, and to patrol the same each day to the Divide from the first day of March to the first day of December of each year. One Patrolman, with horse, for Parley's Canyon, at a salary of Nine Hundred Dollars per annum, whose duty it shall be to keep the canyon and creek free of all rubbish and debris, and whose duty it shall be to live at the station in Parley's Canyon from the first day of March until the first day of December of each year. One Patrolman, with Parse fc,r Emig ration Canyon, during the passing; of sheep through the canyon, at a salary of $2.50 per day. One Ranchman, with horse, to live in the canyon and look after the ranches and buildings in Parley's Canyon and Mt Dell, and to keep the creek open duris,g •che`sinter, in the upper part of the canyon at a salary of Nine Hundred Dollars per annum 125 -2- Two Foreman with horses for Jordan and Salt Lake Canal, at a salary of $2,50 per day each, AND any additional labor that emer;_encies may require. Said salaries shall be paid as are the salaries of other City employees. ARTICLE 3 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ARTICLE 4 This ordinance shall take effect on the first day of January, 1906.
