An ordinance ,iepealtng Clause s of Rule F of Section 940 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to
plumbing rules; and amending Clause f of Rule F of said Section 940.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utaht
SECTION 1. That Clause s of Rule F of Seotion 940 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, be, and the same is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That Clause f of Rule F of Seotion 940 of the
Revised Ordinanoes of Salt Lake City of 1913, be, and the same is
hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"All drain and waste pipes must be as direst and as
straight as possible. Suitable and easily accessible clean-
outs shall be put in at all unavoidable changes in the direc-
tion of all waste pipes and at all angles and offsets which
are not otherwise easily accessible for cleaning. All clean-
outs must be satisfactory to the inspector.
Before the fixtures are planed, the whole system of drain,
soil, waste and vent pipes shall be hermetioally sealed, the
pipes shall then be filled with water to the top, and every
joint shall be examined for leakage, and all leaks shall be
securely closed; except that in case of insppotion of plumbing
already existing, the peppermint or smoke test may be substi-
tuted by the plumbing inspector."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
