(Obtaining money or goods under false pretenses)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-4-1 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO OBTAINING
MONEY OR GOODS UNDER FALSE PRETENSES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 32-4-1 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, is hereby amended to read as follows:
32-4-1 . Obtaining money or goods under false pretenses. It
shall be unlawful for any person, by false or fraudulent
representation or pretense, to obtain from another person any
chose in action money, goods, wares, merchandise, chattels,
effects or other valuable thing, with the intent to cheat or
defraud any person of the same within the limits of Salt Lake
City; provided, the value of the property so obtained shall not
exceed one hundred dollars.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 9th day of December , 1980.
