An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on all streets within the district bounded on the north by the center Aline of Fifth South Street, on the east by the U. S. Military Reser- vation, on the south by the south side of Sixth South Street, and on the west by the east side of Ninth East Street, in Sidewalk Districts! Nos. 22 and 23, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and ! provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter. !described in Sidewalk Distriots Nos. 22 and 23, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lots 2 and 5, Block 16; 5 and 6, Block 12; 19, Sunset View 1Subdivision, Block 12; 55}and 6 Block 9; 1, and 5 to 9, inclusive, ,Robinson Subdivision, Block 10;4 1, 2, 3,„ 4 astd-fi, Block 13; 1 to 11, ]inclusive, Douglas Place Subdivision, Block 14; 2, Block 14; 1, 2, 3 a 4� Block 15, all in Plat "F", abutting on the south side of Fifth', South Street between Thirteenth East and Fourteenth East Streets; on - both sides of Sixth South Street betwela Tenth East and Fourteenth !East Streets; and on the ea:t side of East Street between Fifth 'South and Sixth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks upon the property hereirbefore and ]1ereil,affter described to be especially affeoted and benefited by said improvement, end it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will by !especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby !levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at am equal and !uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said !portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is five thousand six hundred two and 69/100 ," (45,602.69) dollars, or one and 18/100 ($1.18) dollars per front or -2- jlinear foot of abutting property for sidewalks six (6) feet wide sr d four (4) inches thick, there being 4748.04 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned 'in said districts, which is the total cost and oost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the oontraot entered into for the per- formanoe of said work and making said improvement, with J. D. Hanley,'. dated the 25th day of April, 1910, and the Treasurer is hereby author;- ized and direoted to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ;ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: Six Foot Sidewalks. The north side of the east 280.19 feet of the west 323.87 feet of Lot 5, the south side of the west 324.85 feet of Lot 2, Block 16; ;the north side of Lot 5, Block 12; the north aide of Lot 19, Sunset View Subdivision, Block 12; the north side of the east 165 feet of 1 .Lot 6, Block 12; the north side of Lot 5, the north side of the west ' 127 feet of Lot 6, Block 9; the north side of Lots 1, and 5 to 9, in- o1usive, Robinson Subdivision, Block 10; the north side of Lot 6, block -w.,,4 /J- 10; the west side of Lots 4 and 5,Athe south side of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 13; the south side of Lots 1 to 11, inclusive, Douglas Place. 'Subdivision, Block 14; the south side of the west 297 feet of Lot 2, Block 14; the south side of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 15, Plat "F", ,'Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats jof said pity to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streetsy. and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal ' yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate ' of six per oent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to»wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; oneefifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such II -3- approval. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax moy be paid at any time within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid, ntbeing paid on the date the same becomes ;idue, the whole amount of the speoial tax unpaid at the tine said in- iistallment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid on the day any installment becomes duo, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effeot upon approval. Sidewalk Extension No. 136.
