Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Fourth West Street between First South and Second South Streets,
in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose oZ providing for the
grading, curbing and guttering, constructing private driveways and
drainage system, end paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 28,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
with cement, constructing private driveways, constructing drainage
system to carry water across streets and intersections, and paving
thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 1 and 8, Block 64; and 5, Block 65, Plat "A", Salt Lake
City Survey, abutting on both sides of Fourth West Street between
First South and Second South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and gu -tering with cement, oorstructing private driveways, con-
structing drainage system to carry water across streets and inter-
sections, and paving with sheet asphalt (said sheet asphalt pavement
to be ninety-two (92) feet between curbs with six (6) inch concrete
base, one and one-half (l ) inch binder, sari two (2) inch topping
of sheet asphalt), the portions of said street opposite the property

hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected
and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tqx hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion-
of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is sixty-four hundred twenty-nine and
75/100 (506429.75) dollars; sixty-one hundred twenty-nine and 75/101
(06129.75) dollars, or seven and 43/100 ($07.43) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for said ninety-two foot road-
way, there being 825 feet abutting said portion of said improvemen ;
and three hundred (0300.00) dollars for private driveways, or twen y
(020.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being fifteen
private driveways, the cost of the construction of which and the
property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within
the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in
said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of
said improvement, according to the contract entered into with G. A
Roman, dated the 30th day of June, 1915, which contract was assig -d
to P. J. Moran, Contractor, Incorporated, by G. A. lieman and said
assignment authorized by the Board of Commissioners January 11,
1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to asses=,
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the
purpose herein mentioned:
The east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 64; the west side of Lot
5, Block 65, Plat "A", Aalt Lake City Survey.
Property Assessed for Private Lriveways
In Addition to Regular Assessment.
The east side of the north 49.5 feet of the south 161 feet,
the east side of the south 100 feet of the north 169 feet, and the
east side of the north 69 feet of Lot 1, the east side of the soot

( feet, the east side of the north. 41.25 feet of the south 189.75
and
feet,/the east side of the north 140.25 feet of Lot 8, Block 64,
Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the
official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back .from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
lesual yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
jjat the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
krdinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after

years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
five :fears after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there

tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective,
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes
effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance
, becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order
Alin which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at
lany time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy,
Iof the tax, becomes effective, without interest. In the event of
!lany installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date
the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax: unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shell become due and
payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per

annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or
more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
