Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners •f Salt Lake City, Utak: STIOTION 1. That Section 730 of the Revised Orttaanoee of Salt Lake City of 1903, as Kneaded 'by an ordisasee posse* by the City Cosmeil April 5, 1909, and approved by the layer April 8, 1909, re- lating to the appointment and compensation of the $Marintendent of iderwswils, be, amd the soma is hereby amended and rs.esnctsd so as to real as follows: 736. APPOINTM7NT. COWNSATION. The Board of Commis- sioners of Salt Lake City shall have the power to appoint a oompetent person to the position of SuperObendeat of Water- 1 works, who shall hold office until the msaioipal sleetion next following such appointment, and until hie sneeeseor is appoint, ed and qualified, unless sooner removed by the Board of Com- missioners of said city. Such officer shall receive as oompem- cation 4400.00 per annum, tlhich shall be in full for ell eer-I 'lees render:IA tke 4144 , mad shall be payable monthly as are I I the salaries of other city officers. SECTION 2. That Section 732 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt; ieke City of 1903, R.8 amended by an ordinance passed by the City ounoil of Salt Lake City May 1, 1911, and approved by the Mayor y 2, 1911, be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so s to read as follows: i -2- 732. EMPLOYEES. APPOINTMP NT. COMF^NSATION. The Sgper-I intendant of Waterworks may appoint, subject to confirmation by the Board of Commissioners, the following named assistants! and employees: One oiief *lest at a salary of $1500.00 per annum, who shall, before assuming the duties of his office, take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office, and shall gi've a bond to Salt Lake City in the sum of $ 0 °d— eonditioned as required by law; One clerk at a salary of $1020.00 per annum; One stenographer at a salary of $900.00 per annum; One assessor at a salary of $1200.00 per annum; One inspector at a salary of $1080.00 per annum; II One inspector at a salary of $900.00 per annum; One store keeper at a salary of $7ac.00 per annum; the salaries of all of whom shall be paid monthly ar are the salaries of other employees. The Superintendent of Waterworks may employ the followin named employees: 3 foremen at a salary of $1320.00 each, per annum; 1 assistant foreman at a salary of $1080.00 per annum; 2 repairers at a salary of $1200.00, each, per annum; 1 plumber at a salary of $1200.00 per annum; 1 meter man at a salary of $1200.00 per annum; 2 runners at a salary of $1020.00, each per annum; 7 laborers at a salary of $900.00, each, per annum; 4 emergency men at a salary of $1020.00, each, per annum 1 distributor at a salary of $1080.00 per annum; t 2 patrolmen for the Jordan and Salt Lake Canal, at a salary of $960.00, each, per annum; -3- l patrolman for Cottonwood Canyon, at a salary of 960.00 per annum; patrolmen for Parley's Canyon, at a salary of $960.00, each, per annum; 1 patrolman for Parle 's Canyon, for 8 months in the year, at a salary of 80.00 per month; 1 eaergeney patrolman for IDmigration Canyon, for 2 months in the year, at a salary of $80.00 per month; 18 tam, at a salary of $780.00, eaoh, per annum; !C ass fex s#xtety days to re-check water assessments, at a salary of $75.00, each, per month. 1 e Superintendent of Waterworks may, from time to time, employ such carpenters, blacksmiths, miners,. masons, laborers ; and teams, in such numbers and et such rate of eonkpenSation • as the Board of Commissioners may authorize.
