An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in
the territory included between South Temple and Ninth South Streets,
and from the Intercepting Sewer east to Second West Street, in Sewer
District No. 2, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers,
Ito-wit:
In Lots 1 and 2, Block 25; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 26; 1, 6, 7 and
i8, Block 27; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 28; 1, 2, 5 and 6, Block
145; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 47, all in Plat "A", abutting on the north
side of Seventh South Street between Second West and Fourth West
'Streets; on the west side of Fourth West Street between Fifth South
and Seventh South Streets; on both sides of Sixth South Street betwee$
!Fou*h West and Fifth West Streets; on the south side of Fourth South
';Street between Fourth West and Fifth West Streets; on the north side
of Fourth South Street between Third West and Fourth West Streets; on,
the north side of Fifth South Street between Fourth West and Fifth
West Streets; and on the west side of Third West Street between Third'.
South and Fourth South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-
!fled pipe sewers six (6), sight (8), ten (10), twelve (12) and six-
teen (16) inches in diameter upon the portions of said streets oppo-
site the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be espeoir
ally affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby ad
judged, determined and established that said property will be espeoi-,
tally benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied,
and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions
of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said

;;parcels of land is thirteen thousand three hundred sixty-nine and
124/100 (413,369.24) dollars,' or two and 2678958/10,000.000
) (A2.2676958) dollars, per front or linear foot of abutting property
for sewer on side of streets, there being 5895 feet of abutting prop-
erty within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men-,
tioned in said district, which is the total oost and cost per front
;foot of said sewer, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and making said improvement, with James
1Kennedy Construction Company, dated February 7, 1910, and the Treasurer
lis hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned:
Sewer on Side of Streets.
The west 305 feet of the south side of Lot 1, the east 305 feet
of the south side of Lot 2, Block 26; the west 140 feet of the south
aide of Lot 1, the south side of Lots 2 and 3, the east 140 feet of
the south side of Lot 4, Block 26; the east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and
8. Block 27; the east 140 feet of the north side of Lot 5, the north
side of Lots Absa3xt S and 7, the west 140 feet of the north side of
Lot 8, the east side of Lots 1 and 8, the west 140 feet of the south
side of Lot 1, the south side of Lots 2 and 3, the east 140 feet of
the south side of Lot At 4, Block 28; the east 305 feet of the north
side of Lot 6, the west 305 feet of the north side of Lot 6, the west
305 feet of the south side of Lot 1, the east 305 feet of the south
side of Lot 2, Block 45; the south 140 feet of the east side of Lot 6,
the east side of Lots 1. 7 and 8, the west 280 feet of the east 305
feet of the south side of Lot 1, Block 47, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake
City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said
pity to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and
to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal
yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate
of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due,
to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance

'confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement;
''one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof.
in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years
'after such approval; and one fifth thereof in five years after much
approval. One or more of said installments, in the order in which
'they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time
within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the.
!levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any installment or
!the interest afore said not being-paid on the date the same becomes
!due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said in-
jetallmeut and interest are due, shall become dus and payable, and shall
!draw interest at the rate of sight per sent per annum until the sale
hof the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may
be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount
,!thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
