AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Subsection (L) of Section 43-6-1 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
taxicab rates.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Subsection (2) of Section 43-6-1 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to taxi-
cab rates, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 43-6-1. Rates for hire established. * * *
" (1) * * *
"(2) Mileage rates: Fifty-five cents for the first
one-fifth mile or fraction thereof and ten cents for
each additional one-fifth mile or fraction thereof. In
addition to the above rate, an additional five cents per
trip surcharge may be made to cover the cost of gasoline,
provided that notice of said surcharge is posted in a
conspicuous place and manner on the taxi's rate card."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake Cit Utah,
this 23rd day of October, 1974.
