Result .__. AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
in the district bounded on t -e west by the west side of Thirteenth
East Street, on the north by the south side of Sunnyside Avenue,
on the east by the east side of Eighteenth East Street, and on the
south by the south side of Tenth South Street (said sewer on
Thirteenth East Street, on Ninth South Street from Fairview Avenue
west, on Fairview Avenue, Williams Avenue (now Michigan Avenue)
from Fifteenth East Street east, and on Fifteenth East Street to
include four-inch house connections to back of curb) , in Sewer
District No. 1, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No.
1, for the construction of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 2, 17, 18, and 29 to 51, inclusive, Block 20; 44 to
47, inclusive, Block 21; 133, and 108 to 130, inclusive, Block 8; 1,
2, 3, 4, 8, 9, Block 9; 26 to 49, inclusive, Block 10, Douglas Park
Amended Plat Subdivision, in Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1
east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; 1 to 30, inclusive, Block 1; 20
to 54, inclusive, Block 2, Douglas Park Second Addition; 21, Yale
Park Subdivision; 7, 8 end 9, Block 30; 8 and 9, Block 29, all in

Five Acre Plat "0", Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of
Michigan Avenue between Fourteenth East Street and Diestel Road;
on both sides of Gilmer Avenue between Fourteenth East and Fifteen h
East Streets; on both sides of Fourteenth East Street between
Gilmer and Yale Avenues; on both sides of Fifteenth East Street
between Ninth South Street and Yale Avenue; end on both sides of
Fairview Avenue between Ninth South Street and Diestel Road.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified and concrete pipe sewers upon the portions of said streets
opposite the property hereinbefore end hereinafter described to be
especially effected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property wil
be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equa
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet beck therefrom, and the tax hereby levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is sixty-five hundred
twenty-six and 42/100 ($6526.42) ; seventeen hundred fifty-four end
87/100 (1$1754.87) dollars, or 76/100 (40.76) dollars per front or
linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets,
there being 2309.04 feet abutting said portion of said improvement
and forty-seven hundred seventy-one and 55/100 ($4771.55) dollars,
or one and 8/100 (41.08) dollars per front or linear foot of abut-
ting property for sewer in center of streets, including four-inch
house connections to back of curb, there being 4418.10 feet abut-
ting said portion of said improvement, all within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost end cost per front foot of said sewers,
according to the contract entered into with James Kennedy, dated

the let day of July, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
Sewer in Center of Streets. (Half Rate)
Fronting on Michigan Avenue:
All of Lots 44 to 47, inclusive, Block 21; all of Lots 108 to
112, inclusive, Block 8, Douglas Park Amended Plat Subdivision,
Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and
Meridian.
The south Fide of Lots 1 to 25, inclusive, the south side of
the west 60 feet of Lot 30, Block 1; the north side of Lots 29 to
47, inclusive, the north side of the east 60 feet of Lot 28, the
north side of the west 60 feet of Lot 48, the west side of Lots 20
to 28, inclusive, Block 2, Douglas Park Second Addition; the west
side of the north 101.1 feet of Lot 21, Yale Park Subdivision;
beginning 44 feet west of the southwest corner of Lot 25, Block 1,
Douglas Park Second Addition, thence south 420.93 feet, being in
Lots 7, 8 and 9, all in Block 30, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field
Survey.

The west side of the south 91.26 feet of Lot 18, the west sid=
of the north 85 feet of Lot 29, the south side of Lots 29 to 49,
inclusive, the south side of the west 95.16 feet of Lot 51, Blook
20; the east side of the south 168.88 feet of Lot 44, Block 21,
Douglas Park Amended Plat Subdivision, Seotion 9, Township 1 south
Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; beginning at a point
156.04 feet north of the southwest corner of Lot 9, Block 29, Five
Acre Plat "C", thence easterly 665.84 feet, thence on a 107.23 foo
radius curve to the left 65.56 feet, Lot 9, beginning at the south
west corner of Lot 9, Block 29, Five Acre Plat "C", thence north
96.04 feet, Lot 9, the west side of Lot 8, Block 29; the east side
of Lots 26 to 30, inclusive, Block 1; the east side of Lots 48 to

thence northerly 4.85 feet, thence on a 72.85 foot radius curve to
the left 46.29 feet, Lot 133, Block 8; beginning at a point 38.47
feet west of the northeast corner of Lot 17, Block 20, Douglas Par•
Amended Plat, thence southwesterly 15.99 feet, Lot 17, Block 20;
beginning at a point 30 feet northeast Of the southwest oorner of
Lot 9, Block 9, Douglas Park Amended Plat, thence northeasterly
259.69 feet, in Lots 2, 8 and 9, Block 9, Douglas Park Amended Pla.,
Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and
Meridian;
Fronting on Fairview Avenue:
Beginning at a point 30 feet northwest of the southeast corne•
of Lot 4, Block 9, Douglas Park Amended Plat, thence northwesterly
254.50 feet, in Lots 1, 3 and 4, Block 9; beginning at a point 30
feet northwest of the southeast corner of Lot 51, Block 20, Douglas
Park Amended Plat, thence northwesterly 137.72 feet, in Lots 50 an.
51, all of Lots 1 end 2, Block 20; all of Lots 26 to 48, inclusive,
beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 48, Block 10, Douglas Par
Amended Plat, thence northwesterly 51.74 feet, in Lot 49, Block 10
Douglas Park Amended Piet Subdivision, Section 9, Township 1 south
Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, as the same are shown
upon the official plats of said City, to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, toeiwit: One-fifth thereof one year after the

ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years efte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth thereo
in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more
of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or
the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days
after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effecti e,
without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interes
aforesaid not being paid on the day the same becomes due, the whol
amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and
interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of
the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid,
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the
amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
