An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
an the south side of First South Street between Ninth West and
Tenth West Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 21, for the construct
tion of a cement sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property herein-
after described in Lots 1 and 18 to 32, incluisive,'Block 2, Kelsey '
and Gillespie's Subdivision of Block 44, Flit i"""•,` Salt Lake City
Survey, abutting on the south side of First South Street between
Ninth West and Tenth West Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 21, said:
property having a frontage of 660 foot along said street.
This tax is levied. to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six ( 6' feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon
said portion of said street apposite the property hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eig hundred and sixty
($660.00) dollars, or one (41.00) dollar per front or linear foot,
which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear fo
foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
ffmrected to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordi-
nance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of Lots 1, and. 18 to
32, inclusive, Block 2, Kelsey & Gillespie's Subdivision of Block 44,
Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the of-

ficial plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back
from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6)
eAtual-;installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be.
came'apd be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance;' one-sixth thereof in one.:year after such approval; one-sixth
ereof in two years after such approval;one-sixth thereof in three
li years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro:-I
val./Attach and every installment of said 'tax except the first,shall '
d'xaw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear int rest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from
and after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
