HomeMy WebLinkAbout134 of 1906 - Ordinance 134 of 1906 – Sidewalk Extension No. 120. • N ORDINANCE . • Am ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property en the west side of State Street between First North and Second North Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 19, for the construction of a cement sidewalk. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property herein- after described in Lots 2, 4,.5 and fi, Block 1, Plat "E", and that portion of the southwest quarter of,Section 31, Township 1 north, Range 1 east, lying between the north line of Lot 6, Block 1, Plat "E", and. the south side of Second North Street, Salt Lake City Sur- vey, abutting on the west side of State Street between First North and Second North Streets, in Sidewalk . istrict No. 19, said prop- erty having a frontage of '759.89 feet along said street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cement sidewalk six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter des- cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage; upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefromv and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eight hundred thirty- five and 88/100 0835.88) dollars, or one and 10/100 (01.10) dol- lars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost: and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treas- urer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: 134 11 -2- . 1.l of Lots 2, 4, 5 and 6, Block 1, Plat "E", and that portion of the southwest q a.rter of Section 31, Township 1 north, Range 1 east, lying between the north line of Lot 6, Block 1, Plat "E", and the south: sid.e of Second North Street, Salt Lake City Survey, as itk the same are shown aponLthe official plate' of said City to a depth of twenty*five (25Y feet{ bask from said street,, and to collect said tax. . ,t,BECTION' 2. Said tax shall ber,nme and be delinquent in six (6) equal 'installments, as follows, to-wit: tie-.sixth thereof shall be- eaneand be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi- mtnce; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two yeare after such approval;one-sixth thereof in three years after such approval; owe-sixth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-sixth thereof In five years after such appro- val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum frog date of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its date of delinquency. SECTION` 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval. Sidewalk Extension No. 120.
