An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on both sides of Third South Street. between Second East and Third
East Streets, in Sidewalk District ITo. 6, for the eonetruetion of a
cement sidewalk.
Be lit ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake .City, Utah:
SECTIONS 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the. property hereinafter
described in Lots 1 and 2, Block 55, arid 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 54,
Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Third
South Street between Second East and Third East Streets, in Side-
walk District Nro. 6,. said property having a frontage of 1320 feet
along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon
said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of'
;i twenty-five% (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax here-by levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand six
hundred and fifty ($1,650.00) dollars, or one and 25/100 (:1.25)
dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cast
and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treas-

user is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with
the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned,
All of Lots 1 and 2, Block 55, and all of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block
54, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are: shown upon the

official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION' 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6)
'equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
cote and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nave; one-sixthithereof in one year after puch_approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one+sixth thereof in
three years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years
: '! after such approval;., and:one-sixth thereof to fv4 years after such
approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first
slti,al.rdraw interest 'at the rate of six per cent per annum from date
If levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said
tax shall bear interest at, the rate of eight per cent per annum
from and after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
