139 of 1908 - Ordinance 139 of 1908 – Sewer Extension No. 186, Fifth Partial Estimate. I, AT ORDINANCE . An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of property within the district bounded on the south by the north line of Third Avenue, on the west by the west line of A Street, on the north by the north line of Sixth Avenue, and on the east by the cen-j ter line of Virginia. Street, in Sewer District Do. 1, for the con- struction of sewers. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTIOS 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the sane upon the property hereinafter; described in Sewer District No." 1, Xor the construction of sewers, 1 to-wit: In Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 25; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 26; 2, 3 and 4, Block 27; 3 and 4, Block 28; Plat "G"; 1, 3 and 4, Block 57; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 84; 1 and 2, Block 85; 1, Block 83; 1 and 4, Block 56; 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, Cook's Subdivision, Block 83, Plat "D",' the south abutting onAkslt sides of Fourth Avenue between If and R Streets, on both sides of Fifth Avenue between I and 7 Streets, on both sides of Sixth Avenue between _": and F Streets, on both sides of Si Street be- tween Fifth and Sixth Avenues„on the west side of IT Street between Third and Sixth Avenues, on the east side of if Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, on both sides of 0 Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, and on both sides of P Street between Third and Fourth Avenues. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-: fied pipe sewers eight (8) incnen in diameter upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hcreinbefore and hereinafter des- cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop- erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foor tage upon said portions of said strep 9fronting upon and to a cf -2- twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is five thousand eight hun dred fifty-seven and. 47/100 ($5,857.47) dollars, or one and '917926/10,000,000 (51.0917926) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on said portions of the streets above mentioned in Sewer District no. 1, there being 5365 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewer, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Davis & Hauser, dated the 4th day of May, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the 2rov_sions of this ordi- nance for the purpose herein mentioned: Fronting on Fourth Avenue. The north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 25; the north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 26; the north side of Lot 3, the west 140 feet of the north side of Lot 4, Block 27; the west 140 feet of the north: side of hot 4, the east 140 feet of the north side of Lot 3, Block 28, Plat "G". Fronting on Fifth Avenue. The north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 57; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 84, Plat "D". Fronting on Sixth Avenue. The north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 84; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 85, Plat "D". rrontino: on M Street. The north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, Block 83; the north 140 feet of the west side of Lot 2, the south 140 feet of the west side of Lot 3, Block 84; the south 20 feet of the east side of Lot 6, the east side of Lots 7, 8, 9 and 10, Cook's Subdivision of B ock 83, Plat "D". �� 1; 1 -3- 1 Fronting on B Street. The north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, the south 140 feet of the east side of Lot '4, Block 56; the south 14C feet of the east side of Lot 4, the north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, Block 57; the north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, the south 140 feet' of the east side of Lot 4, Block 84, Plat "D"; the south 140 feet of the west side of Lot 3, the north 140 feet of the west side of Lot 2 Block 25, Plat "G". Fronting on 0 Street. The north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, the south 140 feet of the east side of Lot 4, Block 25; the south 140 feet of the west side of Lot 3, the north 140 feet of the west side of Lot 2, Block 26, Plat "G". Fronting on P Street. The north 140 feet of the east side of Lot 1, the south 140 feet of the east side of Lot 4, Block 26; the south 140 feet of the west side Of Lot 3, the north 140 feet of the west side of Lot 2, Block 27, Plat "G", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in fire equal installments, as fo1l5ws, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten clays after the approval of the ordinance confirming: the levy of the tax. One or more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and (t7343 1 -4- Ito date of payment.
