AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1165, Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, as amended by ordinances passed by the
Board of Commissioners on Aug. 18, 1921, Dec. 14, 1922, April 27,
1926, July 19, 1926, and October 27, 1927, relating to the Fire
Department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 1165, Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1920, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board
of Commissioners on Aug. 18, 1921, Dec. 14, 1922, April 27, 1926,
July 19, 1926 and October 27, 1927, relating to the Fire Depart—
ment,be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1165. ORGANIZATION AND SALARIES. The fire
department of Salt Lake City shall consist of the following
officers, whose salaries shall be as fixed by the Board of
Commissioners with the limits specified as follows:
Chief of department, not to exceed $3600.00
Assistant Chief, not to exceed . . . . 2640.00
Battalion Chief, not to exceed 2460.00
Secretary, not to exceed 2040.00
Captains, not to exceed 2160.00
Lieutenants, not to exceed . . . . 2040.00
Superintendent of fire and police alarm,
not to exceed 2520.00
Firemen of first grade, notitf exceed 1860.00

Firemen of second grade, not to exceed 01740.00
Firemen of third grade, not to exceed 1620.00 I
Inspectors, deputy fire marshals, master mechanic,
and firemen mechanics shall be graded as captains, lieutenants
or firemen of the first, second and third grade.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect on July 1st,
1929.
