Keyser Knight1Z7)7 Lee V AIL Chairman - - A ORDINANCE Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING the third paragraph and sub- section (b) of Section 507 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relating to location, construction and installation of underground tanks. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the third paragraph of Section 507 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relat- ing to the location, construction and installation of underground tanks be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: No underground tank. within the limits of Fire Zone No. 1 shall have a capacity of more than 1,000 gallons and not more than a total of 4,000 gallons shall be stored on any one parcel of land. No underground tank outside of the limits of Fire Zone No. I shall have a capacity of more than 7,000 gallons and not more than a total of 14,000 gal- ve lons shall be stored on any one parcel of land. In the event more than one such tank is installed, then each tank shall be separated from the others by at least two (2) feet of sand forty (40 and no tank shall be closer than the x fact from any over one (1) story in height, adjoining building,/the actual service station structure being excepted. SECTION 2. That sub-paragraph (b) of said Section 507 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relating to the location, construction. and installation of underground tanks be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: (b) CONSTRUCTION. With the exception of existing under- ground tanks in good condition, all tanks shall be made of 14 it -a- �ii galvanized steel, basic open hearth steel, or wrought iron of the following U. S. Standard gauge or thickness depending upon the capacity, to-vvit: Capacity--gallons. Minimum thickness of material. 1 to 560 14 U. S. Standard gauge 561 tt5 1100 12 U. S standard gauge 1101 to 4000 7 U. S. Standard gauge 11 4001 to 7000 one-quarter inch SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Oommissi.oners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the'inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shalltake effect immediately'. SECTION 4.
