AN ORDINANCE
Result 1
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
in the distriot bounded on the west by the west side of Thirteenth
East Street, on the north by the south side of Sunnyside Avenue,
on the east by the east side of Eighteenth East Street, and on the
south by the south side of Tenth South Street (said sewer on
Thirteenth East Street, on Ninth South Street from Fairview Avenue
west, on Fairview Avenue, Williams Avenue (now Miohigan Avenue)
from Fifteenth East Street east, and on Fifteenth East Street to
include four-inch house conneotions to baok of curb) , in Sewer
Distriot No. 1, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No.
1, for the construction of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, and 14 to 28, inclusive, Block 7;
35 to 57, inclusive, Block 8; 31 to 42, inclusive, Block 6, Douglas
Park Amended Plat Subdivision; 1, and 5 to 25, inclusive, Block 10;
1, and b to 25, inclusive, Block 11; 1 to 7, inclusive, Block 12;
40 to 76, inclusive, Block 13, Douglas Park Subdivision, all in
Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and
Meridian; 11, Block 30, Five Acre Plat "C"; Big Field Survey; 11
to 14. inclusive, Block 13, Fremont Heights Subdivision, Block 1,
Plat Via'", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Ninth
South Street between Thirteenth East and Fourteenth East Streets;
on both sides of Fourteenth East Street between Ninth South Street
and Sunnyside Avenue; on both sides of Greenwood Terrace between
Ninth South Street and Diestel Road; on both sides of Park Row
between Ninth South Street and Diestel Road; and on both sides of
Diestel Road between Ninth South Street and Michigan Avenue.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified and concrete pipe sewers upon the portions of said stree s
opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property Nil
be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an aqua
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirty-nine hundr.
ten and 43/100 ($3910.43) dollars; twenty-five hundred sixty-five
and 50/100 ($2565.50) dollars, or 76/100 40.76) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets,
there being 3375/66 geet abutting said portion of said improvement
and thirteen hundred forty-four and 93/100 ($1344.93) dollars, or
one and 8/100 ( 1.08) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for sewer in center of streets, inoluding four-inch house
connections to back of curb, there being 1245.31 feet abutting
said portion of said improvement, all within the boundaries of the
lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which
is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, acoordin:
to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement, with James Kennedy, dated the 1st day of
July, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to

assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for
the purpose herein mentioned:

The west side of Lots 31 to 42, inclusive, Block 6; the east
side of Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 7, Douglas Park Amended Pla
Subdivision, Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake
Base and Meridian.
Fronting,on Greenwood Terrace:
All of Lots 1, and 5 to 19, inclusive, Block 10; all of Lots
17 to 24, inclusive, Blook 11; beginning at the northwest corner o
Lot 16, Block 11, Douglas Park Subdivision, thence southeasterly
76.05 feet, being in Lot 16, Block 11; beginning at the southwest
corner of Lot 25, Block 11, Douglas Park Subdivision, thence north
westerly 26.39 feet,being in Lot 25, Block 11, all in Douglas Park
Subdivision, Section 9, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake
Base aid Meridian.
Fronting on Diestel Road:
All of Lots 20 to 25, inclusive, Blook 10; all of Lots 7 to
16, inclusive, Block 11, Douglas Park Subdivision, Section 9, Town
ship 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian.
Fronting on Park Row:
All of Lots 1, 5 and 6, Block 11; beginning at the northeast
corner of Lot 7, Block 11, Douglas Park Subdivision, thence south-
easterly 68.21 feet, being in Lot 7, Block 11; beginning at the
northwest oorner of Lot 6, Block 12, Douglas Park Subdivision,
thence northwesterly 49.73 feet, being in Lot 7, Block 12; beginni •
at the northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 12, Douglas Park Subdivision,
thence southeasterly 39 feet, being in Lot 6, Block 12, all in
Douglas Park Subdivision, Section 9, Township 1 south , Range 1

All of Lots 2 to 6, inclusive, Block 12; all of Lots 40 to 76
inclusive, Block 13, Douglas Park Subdivision, Section 9, Township
1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian.

south side of Lots 12 to 14, inclusive, the south side of the east
14.1 feet of Lot 11, Block 13, Fremont Heights Subdivision, Block
1, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey; the north side of the east
164.95 feet of the west 181.95 feet of Lot 11, Block 30, Five gore
Plat "C", Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the offioia
plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet baok from
said streets, and to colleot said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effeotive; one-fifth thereof in two years afte.
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years
after said ordinanoe beoomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance beoomes effective; and one-fifth thereo
in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more
of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or
the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days
after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effeeti el
without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interes

aforesaid not being paid on the day the same becomes due, the whol
amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and
interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of
the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid,
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the
amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
