142 of 1904 - Ordinance 142 of 1904 – Sidewalk Extension No. 75. AN ORDINANCE . An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property en the north side of Sixth South Street from State Street to Second Mast Street, on the west aide of Second Nast Street from Fifth South Street to Seventh South Street, on the north side of Seventh South Street from State Street to Second East Street, and on the east side of State Street from Sixth South Street to Seventh South Street, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 9, 16 and 20, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter deseribed in Lots Nos. 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8, Block 35, and in Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8, Block 20 Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting en the north side of Sixth South Street from State Street to Second Nast Street, on the west side of Second East Street from Fifth South Street to Seventh South Street, en the north side of Seventh South Street from State Street to Second East Street, and on the east side of State Street from Sixth South Street to Seventh South Street, in Sidewalk Districts Nee. 9, 16 and 20, said property having a front- age of 3,300 feet along said streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks six feet wide and four inches thick upon said portions of said streets opposite the property hereinafter described to be es- pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is here- by adjudged, determined and established that the same will be es- pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the li$4ear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be as- sessed upon said parcels of land is three thousand four hundred and -2- sixty-five ( 3,465.00) dollars, or one and 5/100 ($1.05) dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estfmata test per 'inear foot of said sidewalks, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess In accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, Fronting on Sixth South Street: All of Lots 1 and 2, Block 35; Fronting on Secend East Street: All of Lets 1, 6, 7 and 8, Bleak 35, All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 20; Fronting on Seventh South Street: All of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 20; Frontitas on State Street: All of Lots 4 and 5, Block 20, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to col- lect said tax. SECTION' 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent as follows: One-third thereof shall become delinquent in one month after the approval of this levy; one-third in two months after said appro- val, and one-third in three months after said approval. Each and every installment of said tax exeept the first, shall draw interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum from date of levy, and all said installments shall bear interest at the rats of ten p er cent per annum from date of delinquency. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
