An ordinance levying a tax and !or the ueeecseent of property on
Seventh East Street between South Temple end Third South Streets in
Paving District To. 27, for the purpose of providing fur the grading
and paving thereof.
Be it oruaiue:i by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. Thy t the City'Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving District•No. 27, for the purpose.of providing for
,1 the grading and paving of a portion of said district, to,wit:
In Lots 1, 6, 7 end 8, Block 60; 1 and. 8, Block 53; 1, 6, 7 and
8, Block 46; 4 and 5, Block 59; and 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 54, all in
Plat "B", abutting on the west side of Seventh East Street between
South Temple and Third South Streets, and on the salt side of Seventh
East Street between South Temple and Second South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading and paving
with asphalt two roadways (said asphalt pavement on each of said road-
ways to be twenty-four (24) feet wide and nine and 1/2 (9-1/2) inches
thick, with a twenty-four (24) foot park between), on the portion of
said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established thet said prop-
erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tux hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rats in accordance with tee linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a de;2th of
twenty-five (25) feet bac4 therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-seven thousand
four hundred forty-six and 49/100 (07,446.49) dollars, or eight and
317,119/1,000,000 ($8.317119) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting-; property for gradine, and paving the street ebove mentioned

within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned
in said district, which is the total cost and coat per front foot of
said pavement according to the contract entered into for the perform
am* of said work and making said iraproveaset, with P. J. 1.1oran, dat.d
the 3rd day of May, 1909, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance
for the purpose herein mentioned:
The east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 60; the east side 6f
Lots 1 and 8, Block 53; the east aide of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block

shown upon the official plate of said city to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax.
1 SECTIOII 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal
Iinstallments, as follows, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after

the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-tenth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-tenth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-tenth thereof in four years after such approval; one-tenth there-
of I I
in five years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in six years
after such approval; one-tenth thereof in seven years after such ap-
proval; one-tenth thereof in eight years after such approval; one-
tenth thereof in nine years after such approval; and one-tenth there !
of in ten years after such approval. One or more o f said installments
or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the spprovall
of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or more incta1.I-

ments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any instsll- 11
meat beoomes due by paying;; the amount thereof and interest to date oi;
payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at the rate j
of six (6) per cent per ennum from the date of the approval of the
ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of delinque -
cy, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.,/.1

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
