AN ORD I1 ANCE' .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
property within the district bounded on the north by Fifth South
Street, on the west by the Gravity Sewer, an the south by Ninth
South Street, and on the east. by Ninth East Street, in Sewer Dis-
tricts Fos. l,snd 2, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ormlained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lots 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 35; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
and 8, Block 36; 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 19, Plat "A"; 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 21; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 22; 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 9; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 20;
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 23; 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 6;
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 10; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8,

property having a frontage of' 66,968 feet along said streets.
This tax is levied to defraylthe expense of constructing vitrii- '
fied pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon said portions oaf
said streets opeosite the property hereinafter described to be es-
pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that the sane will be.
i especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
said portions of said streets fronting• x m upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet bail therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eighty-five thousand
nine hundred forty-three and 90/100 (ea5,943.90) dollars; seventy-
one thousand four hundred seventy-one and. 40/100 ($71,.471.40) d'ol
lars, or one and 30/100 (;W1.30) dollars per front or linear foct'af

abutting property for sewer on both sides of street in Sewer Dis-
trict No. 1, there being 54,.9'78 feet of abutting property in said
district; ten thousand one hundred thirty-two and 50/100
' ($10)132.50) dollars, or one and 75/100 ($1.75) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on both sides of
street in Sewer District No. 2, there being 5,790, feet of abutting
property in said district; andirour thousand threw hundred and forty
($4,340.00) dollars,. or 70/100 ($0.70) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for sewer in middle of street in District
No. 1, there being 6,200, feet of abutting property in said dis-
trict, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per
front foot of said sewer, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned:

SEG"'TI0H 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6)
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall
benome and be delinquent one month after the approval of this aordi-
mance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in
threw years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years
after such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after•'six h

approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first,
shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from data
of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said
tax shall bear interest, at the rate of eight percent per annum
fro* and after itd`{,date •of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect mipon approval.,
