An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on the west side of First West Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 20, for the construc- tion of a cement sidewalk. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the'property hereinaf- ter described in Lots 1 and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Walker's Subdivision of Block 6, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting an the west side of First West. Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 20, said property having a frontage of 660 feet along said street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cement sidewalk six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter des- ' Bribed to be especially affected aria benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same. will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at any equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage: upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is six hundred and sixty ($660.00) dollars, or one (41.00) dollar per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer' is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordi- nance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of Lots 1 and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Walker's Subdivision of Block 6, PJat ".A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the sa[uc dry snuwn upon the official plats. of` said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street 148 -2- and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and he delinquent in six (6) equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall become and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi- nance; ore-sixth thereof in one year after such seprto'al; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after such approval; and .one-sixth thereof in five years after such approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per aflnum from date oaf levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said t:ax shall bear interest at the r ate of eight per cent per annum from and after its date of delinquency. SECTION' 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
