An: ordinance levying a tax upon the property abutting on both
sides of South Temple Street from the west side of Tenth East
Street, to the Military Reservation, in Paving District NO. 27, for
the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering. and curbing,
and paving thereof. •
Be at ordained by the City Council of.Salt Lice City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That said Council does hereby levy a tax and pro-
vide for the assessment upon the real property hereinafter des-
cribed abutting on both sides of South Temple Street from the west,
aide of Tenth East Street to the Military Reservation, in Paving
District NO. 27, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, and paving with asphalt said asphalt
pavement to be sixty (60) feet wide between curbs) , South Temple
Street from the west side of Tenth East Street to the Military Res-
ervation, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
that the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of said street
will thereby benefit the property abutting thereon, and hereinafter
described, to the full amount of the estimated cost thereof.
Said property is to be assessed at an equal and uniform rate
1 in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion Of'
said street.
The cost and expense of making said improvement is estimated'
at seven and 50/100 ($7.50) dollars per linear front foot on that
portion of South Temple Street lying between Tenth East and Thir-
teenth East Streets, and nine and 50/100 (49.50) dollars per linear.

hereby levied and to be assessed upon said property is seven and
50/100 ( 7.50) dollars per linear front foot abutting on said South

nine and 50/100 (19.50) dollars per linear front foot abutting on
said South Temple Street between Thirteenth Ealt Street and the
Military Reservation, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to assess said property, and to collect said tax in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose
herein mentioned.
The property hereby assessed consists of the following des-
cribed lots and pieces of ground, to-wit:
South Temple Street between Tenth East and Thirteenth East
Streets:
All of Lots 5 and 6, Block 36; all of Lots 5 and 8, Block 35;
the west 132 feet of Lot 6, Block 35; the east 132 feet of Lot 7,
Block 35; all of Lots 5 and 6, Block 34, Plat "F"; all of Lots 1
and 2, Block 7; all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 6; all of Lots 1 and 2,
Block 5; all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 4; all of Lots 1 and 2, Block
3; all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Plat "G".
South Temple Street from Thirteenth East Street to the Mili-
tary Reservation:
All of Lots 5 and 6, Block 33, Plat "F"; all of Lots 1 and 2,
Block 1, Plat "0", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same appear and
are shown upon the official plats of said Oity.
The total amount of said tax to be so levied and collected at
the rate of seven and 50/100 (17.50) dollars per linear front foot,
and nine and 50/10G (19.50) dollars per linear front foot is thirty-
four thousand eight hundred and forty-eight (134,848.00) dollars,
there being 4,488 feet abutting said improvement.
SECTIOIT 2. That said tax levied as aforesaid upon said prop-
erty shall become delinquent as follows:
One-tenth of the total amount of said tax so levied shall be-
come delinquent February 1, 1907; one-tenth thereof shall become
delinquent February 1, 1908; on$-tonth thereof shall become

delinquent February 1, 1909'; one-tenth thereof shall become delim- •
quent February 1, 1910; one-tenth thereof shall become delinquent
February 1, 1911; one-tenth thereof shall become delinquent Febru-
ary 1;. 1912; one-tenth thereof shall become delinquent February 1,
.1.913; one-tenth thereof shall become delinquent February,1, 1914;
ene-te(ith thereof shall become delinquent February 1, 1915; and
one-tenth thereof shall become delinquent February,10816. Each
Kat emery to tattmext of said installments except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of.six per cent per annum 3rom the time
of this levy until delinquent, and if any or either of aa.id tmstall-
ments shall become delinquent, interest thereon shall be at the
rate of eight per cent per annum from delinquency until such delin-
quent installments are fully paid.
SECTION 3. That the entire amount of tax so levied and
assessed on said property may be paid by the owner of said property,
or the entire equal proportion of said tax upon any piece of prop-

j erty may be paid by any person on any part thereof within fifty
(50) days from said levy, and thereafter such pieces or portions a)f
property affected by this tax shall be exempt from any lien or
charge therefor.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
