Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on
Twenty-first South Street between Fifth East and Sixth East Street$
in Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 368), for the con-
struction of a sewer.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No. 1
(Sewer Extension No. 368), for the construction of a sewer, to-wit:
In Lots 10 to 28, inclusive, Block 3, Hackett's Subdivision,
Block 3, Five Aore Plat "A"; and 74 to 97, inclusive, Glenwood
Subdivision, Block 43, Ten Acre Plat "A", all in Big Field Survey,
abutting on both sides of Twenty-first South Street between Fifth
East and Sixth East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete pipe sewer eighteen (18) inches in diameter, including
four (4) inch curb connections of vitrified pipe, said sewer to
connect with the existing sewer in Fifth East Street, upon the
portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property mill be especially benefited thereby

to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of
land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordano
with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street
fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back there-
from, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parows
of land is twenty-four hundred eighteen and 89/100 ($2418.89)
dollars, or one and 90/100 ($1.90) dollars per front or linear foe
of abutting property for sewer, including curb connections, there
being 1273.10 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of
the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, whio.
is the total post and cost per front foot of said sewer, accordin_
to the oontract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement with Ryberg Brothers, dated the 18th day
of October, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The south side of the east 91 feet of Lot 10, the south side
of Lots 11 to 27, inclusive, and the south side of the west 91 fee
of Lot 28, Block 3, Hackett's Subdivision, Block 3, Five Acre Plat
"A"; the north side of Lots 74 to 96, inclusive, and the north sid
of the west 30.1 feet of Lot 97, Glenwood Subdivision, Block 43,
Ten Acre Plat "A", all in Big Field Survey, as the same are shown
upon the official plate of said City to a depth of twentypfive
(25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte'
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three year
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof i.

four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One
or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable,
or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the day *he same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said
installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable,
and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole
special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes
due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
