An ordinance amending Section 874x7 .of Chapter 33,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as ordained by
an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners, December
26, 1916, relating to restaurants.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah.
SECTION I. That Section 874x7 of Chapter 33,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as ordained/by
an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners, December
26, 1916, be, and the same is hereby amended so as to read
as follows:
SECTION 874x7. It shall be unlawful for any
person to keep, maintain, operate or conduct any
restaurant which shall have within it or in any manner
connected with it any room, booth, or stall having
doors or curtains thereto; or room, booth, or stall
which shall be reached by any entrance except the
main outside entrance to such restaurant; or any
room, booth or stall in which the tables or chairs
are not plainly visible at all times from the Cain
floor of said restaurant; or any room, booth or stall,
the walls of which are higher than three feet six
inches from the surface of the floor; or any room

booth or stall that is not brightly illuminated at all times
such booth or stall is occupied.
It shall be unlawful for any person to diminish
or extinguish the lights in any room, booth or stall in any
restaurant while said room, booth or stall is occupied; or
to remain in such room, booth or stall unless the same is
brightly illuminated.
SECTION II. In the opinion of the. Board. of Commission-
rs it is necessary to the peace, health, safety and morals
of the inhabitants o,f' Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
ffective immediately.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall talcs effect upon its
first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, tnis 4th day of February, 1920.
