Green aim 4a/OL(‘4;(62 Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE - i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1510, Chapter ALIN, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to salaries of officers in the Police Department. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 1510, Chapter _LIV, Revised Ordi- nances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to salaries of officers in the Police Department, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1510. SALARIES. The police department of Salt Lake City shall consist of the following officers whose annual salaries shall be not to exceed the amount stated. Chief of police, who shall be head of the police department ; 4,600.00 Inspector, with rank of senior captain 2,700.00 Chief of detectives, who shall report di- rectly to chief of police 2,700.00 Three captains, each 2,000.00 One lieutenant, 1 860 00 Seven sergeants, each 1,740.00 Superintendent of identification bureau . . 1,860.00 Secretary to chief of police 1,800.00 Secretary to the detective department . . . .1,620.00 Property Clerk 1,680.00 Six detective sergeants, each 1,920.00 Six patrolmen in detective service, each . . 1,740.00 patrolmen of first grade, each 1 620 00 Patrolmen of second grade, each 1 500 00 Patrolmen of third grade, each 1,380.00 Matron 900.00 Jailers, patrol drivers, motorcycle patrolmen, mounted policemen and members of the anti-vice squad shall be graded as patrolmen of the first, second and third grades. The board of commissioners may employ such other per- sons as it may deem necessary for the proper conduct of such department at such salaries as may be designated by said board. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. ! SECTION 3.
