Keyser - - - r,'d = 'Matheson - Murdoch - - - I, Mr.Chairman - - - AN ORDINANCE Result - - AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE to the Government of the United States. WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Government of the United States for the use of the United States Army to lay an underground telephone cable from the United States Army Salt Lake Airdrome Lease, Municipal Airport, to the Administration Building, Salt Lake City Municipal Airport, and terminated in the cargo room of said building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commis- sioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Government of the United States, hereinafter called the Grantee, have the authority and consent of Salt Lake City, a municipal corporation of the State of Utah, and permission is hereby granted it to lay, construct, operate and maintain along, through, under and in the streets of Salt Lake City an underground telephone cable from the United States Army Salt Lake Airdrome Lease, Municipal Airport, to the Administration Building, Salt Lake City Municipal Airport, and terminated in the cargo room of said building, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the edge of the U.S.Army Lease, Muni- cipal Airport, Salt Lake City, and thence proeeeding south along the east side of 23rd West Street, for a distance of approximately 1800 feet, to a point opposite the south end of the Administration Building. Crossing under the pavement of 23rd West Street in a westerly direction and then due west along side of the curb on the south automobile parking area, to the south end of the Administration Building. Thence under the road to the building and entering the building ad- jacent to the east entrance to the cargo room. Cable to be terminated in a standard telephone terminal box on the inside east wall of the aforementioned room. for a period of twenty-five (25) years. .SECTION II. All wires and cables are to be laid thirty-six (36) inches deep and a distance from the center of 23rd West;:Street, 1t3i; -2- as specified by the City Engineer's office. SECTION III. All work dome by the Grantee herein in the public streets, alleys or other public places in Salt Lake City shall be done under the supervision of and subject to inspection by the City Engineer of Salt Lake City and shall be completed in accordance with the terms of this franchise and in compliance with „ existing ordinances. SECTION IV.
