Scheid_ _-_____---- __--- , , Shearman Wells 43 Mr.ChairmanResult AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Thirteenth East Street between Ninth South and Eleventh South (now Seventeenth South) Streets, in Paving Districts Nos. 31 and 32, for the purpose of providing for the grading, installing water services, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nos. 31 and 32, for the purpose of providing for the grading, installing water services and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 1 and 109, Felt's Subdivision; 1, and 103 to 111, inclusive, Block 4, Lincoln Park Subdivision; 12, all in Block 16-A; 1, and 24 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Park View Subdivision; 1, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 20, all in Block 17 A, all in Five Acre Plat "A"; 20 to 29, inclusive, College Heights Subdivision; 19 to 23, inclusive, College Heights Second Addition; 12 to 23, inclusive, East Morningside Subdivision, all in Block 11; 2 to 11, inclusive, Block 30, all in Five Acre Plat "C", and all in Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Thirteenth East Street between Ninth South Street and Browning Avenue. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, -1- installing water services, and paving with concrete (said concrete jipavement to be fifty (50) feet between curbs and from five (5) inches in thickness at the curbs to seven (7) inches in thickness ji in the center, between Ninth South and Tenth South (now Thirteenth i'. Property Assessed for Water Services �In Addition to Regular Assessment. The west side of Lots 20 to 23, inclusive, College Heights Second Addition; the west side of Lot 1b, the west side of Lot 17, and the west side of Lot 20, East Morningside Subdivision, all in Block 11, Five Acre Plat "C", and all in Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten it equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at! the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time eaoh install- ment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement! becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordi- i. nance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said -4- 1 4'I I � I ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in I i seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth therei- of in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes efi'ectihre. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within J thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any install- ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same beoomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Paving Extension No. 129.
