An ordinance amending and reenacting Section 866 of. Chapter
33 of the revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating
to licenses.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 866 of Chapter 33 of the itevi.sed
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to licenses, be .and
the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
Sec. 866. ISerchants, bankers, etc. It shall he unlawful
for any wholesale or retail merchant to commence or carry on
his business without first making a statement under oath of the
c ash value of all goods, wares and other merchandise which he
may have in his possession or under his control for sale,
whether owned by him or consigned to him; or for any merchant
to increase his stock_ beyond the limit of his class of busine s
during the period of his license, without procuring an additio' -
al license for such increase; or for any banke4or broker to
commence or carry on. llW business without first making a state-
ment, under oath, of the value or amount o ' the capital employ-
ed in his business. The assessor of license taxes shall file
all such statements in alphabetical order, and yearly licenses
may be issued thereon as follows:
Over 000,000 shall constitute first class, and pay : 525.00
Over ;;400,000 and not exceeding 5i,500,000 shall
constitute second class, and pay' 450.00
Over . 300,000 and not exceeding i;>400,000, shall
coathtute third class, and pay 4.1/4.`
Over p200,000 and not exceeding :;i300,000, shall
