AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 1 of Title 32, Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to offenses involving persons
and public peace.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 1, Title 32, Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to offenses involving persons
and public peace, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding a new
section, 32-1-26, to read as follows:
Sec. 32-1-26. False Judicial or Official Notice. It
shall be unlawful for any person, with a purpose to pro-
cure the compliance of another with a request for money
made by such person, knowingly to send, mail, deliver or
place upon any vehicle a notice or other writing which
has no judicial or other official sanction, but which in
its format or appearance simulates a summons, complaint,
court order, process or parking citation, or contains
thereon an insignia or seal of Salt Lake City Corporation,
or is otherwise calculated to induce a belief that it
does have a judicial or other official sanction of Salt
Lake City Corporation. U.C.A. 10-8-47. Power to proscribe.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the health, peace and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 24th day of December , 197 4
