Nos. 24 & 30 (Paving Extension No. 143) , for the our ose of providing
for the grading, curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing
drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersec-
tions, constructing private driveways, installing water services and.
sewer connections and paving with bituminous concrete.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION I. That the Borsrd o f Commis s ion ar s o f Salt Lake C i tJ
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon
the 1 roperty hereinafter described in Paving District:; Nos. 24 & 30,
(Paving Extension No. 143) , for the fl%rjcoo o f provid.ing for tee grading,
curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage system to
carry water across and along streets mid intersections, con.atructing
privato driveways, installing water services and sewer connections and
paving with bituminous concrete, to-wit:
In Lots 3 & 4 of Block 79, Lots 3 & 4 of Block 80, Lots 3 &
4 of Block 81, Lots 3 & 4 of Blk. 82, Lots 1 & 6 of Cooke's Sub. of
Blk. 83, Lots 3 & 4 of Blk. 84, Lots 1 & 2 of Blk. 85, Lots 1 & 2 of
Blk. 86, Lots 1 & 2 of Blk. 87, Lots 1 & 2 of Blk. 88, Lots 1 & 2 of
Blk. 89, Lot 1 of Blk. 90, and Lot 2 of Blk. 90, Plat D, Salt Lake City
Survey, abutting on both sides of Sixth Avenue from H Street to PT Street,
in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This tax is levied to defray the o-r-,ense of grading,
curbing and guttering with concrete, coastrect ng drainage system
to carry water across and along streets and intersections, con-
;strutting private driveways, installing water services and sewer
'connections and paving with bituminous concrete ( said yavement
to be forty-six (46) feet wide between curbs with single track,
can Sixth Avenue from 110 feet East of H Street to H Street,
and forty-six (46) feet wide between curbs with double track,
on Sixth Avenue from IT Street to 110 feet East, all pavement to
be six (6) inches thick, with four (4) inch crua'Aed rock base and
two (2) inch wearing surface of bituminous concrete) , the portions
of said street opposite the property Lereinbefore end hereinafter
described to be espsuially affected and benefited by said im-
provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined era established
that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the
full amount of the tax levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal and unifore rata in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting
upon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the
tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land
is Forty-three Thousand., Five Hundred. Forty-two (443,542.00)
dollars; Forty Thousand., One Hundred Thirty-eight and. 80/100
( 40,138.80) dollars or Ten and 79/100 (410.79) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for said forty-six (16) foot
Single track,
,roadwayj there being 3720 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; Eighteen Hundred Seventy-eight and 80/100 (U878.80)
;'dollars or Eight and 54/100 ( 8.54) dollars per front or linear
:foot of abutting property for said forty-six (46) foot roadway,
':double track, there being 220 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; One Thousand Forty-five (41045) dollars for private
driveways, or Fifty-five ( ,55) dollars for each private driveway,
there being nineteen private driveways; Four Hundred Seven -
and 40/100 ('; 07.40) dollars for sewer laterals, or Nineteen

twenty-one sewer laterals; Seventy-two ( 72) dollars for water
services or Sighteen ( 18) dollars for each water service, there
being four water services, the cost of the oonsts {ction of which
private driveways, arri the cost of the sewer laterals, and the
cost of the water services, aryl the property benefited thereby
is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is
the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement, with Mortal Paving Company,
Contractors, dated. the 23d day of July, 1919, and the Treasurer
is hereby authorized ahxl directed to assess, in accordance with
the provisions of this ordinates, for the purpose herein mentioned.:

SECTION II. Said tax shall became and be delinquent
sin ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the eio1e
sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the •
time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one
year after the ordinance con arming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvenont becomes effective; one-tenth thereof
in two years after said ordi.Hance bee ones effective; one-tenth
thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective;
one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes
effective; oneptenth thereof in five years after said ordinance
bee ones effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said
ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective;
and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance bee anes
effective. One or more of said. installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any time Within ten days after the ordinance c cnfirming

the levy of the tax bec sues effective, without interest. In
the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not be-
ing paid, on the date the same beds due, the whole amount
of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and
u interest are due, shall become due and payable, and :shall draw
interest at the rate of eight p<x cent per annum until the sale
of the property assessed.; provided one or more installments, in
lithe order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax
'unpaid, msy be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by
ps,ying the amount thereof and interest to said. date.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect one
day after its first publication.
