That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District INo. 21, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit; In Lots 1 and 8, Block 43; 2, Block 44; 1, 2 and 18, Block 1; 1, 2, 17 and 18, Block 2, Kelsey & Gillespie Subdivision of Block 44; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 47, all in Plat "C", Salt hake City Sur- trey, abutting on both sides of Tenth West Street between Pirst South and Second South Streets; on the went side of i;inth West Street between First South and Second South Streets; and on the north aide of Second South Street between Sixth West and Seventh Teat Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and beneCited by seid improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited there- by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed et an equal. and uniform rate in accord- ance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of laid 159 -2- said streets, fronting upon and to a death of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand nix hundred forty-nine and 79/100 (01,649.79) dollars, or 715/1000 (00.715) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 2207.40 feet of abuttin:, property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work end making said improvement, with McKay Reed, dated the 9th day of Septem- ber, 1912, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The east side of Lots 1 and S, Block 43; the vest side of Lot 2, Block 44; the west side of Lot 18, the east side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 1; the west side of Lots 17 and 18, the east side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Kelsey & Gillespie Subdivision of Block 44; the south side of Lots 2, 3 and 4, the south side of the west 56.4 feet of Lot 1, Block 47, all in Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTIOS 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tex for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth • -3- thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are pay- able, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming; the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any install- ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the tim said installment and interest are due, shall become due and pay- able, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment • becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
