An ordinance amending and re-enacting as amended, Oection
1384 of Chapter 61 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of
1913.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 1384 of Chapter 61 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, of 1913, be, and the same is here-
by amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SECTION 1384. Befouling water. It shall be unlawful for
any person to construct or maintain any privy, closet, cottage,
outhouse, corral, barn, sheep pen, pig pen, chicken coop, stable
or house or building of finy kind or tent or camping place within
150 feet of any stream of water used by the inhabitants of Salt
lake City anywhere within ten miles above the point where water
or
is taken from said stream by said city, or to construct/maintain
any privy, closet, cottage, outhouse, corral, barn, sheep pen,
pig pen, chicken coop, stable or house or building of any kind,
or tent or oamp,/ing place at any point along any stream of water
' used by the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, within 10 miles above
the point where water is taken from said stream by said city in
cases where the waste or drainage from such privy, closet,
cottage, outhouse, corral, barn, sheep pen, pig pen, chicken
coop, stable or house or building of any kind or tent or camping
place would naturally find its way intt said stream; or to

deposit, pile, unload, or leave any manure or other offensive
rubbish, or the carcass of any dead animal along any stream of
water used by the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, anywhere
water from
within ten miles above the point where/said stream is taken,
where the waste or drainage therefrom will naturally find its
way into said stream of water; or to drive, or to permit, or cause
any other persons to drive any loose cattle, horse, sheep or
hogs through any canyon from the stream of which water is or
shall be taken for the use of the inhabitants of said city, or
to permit any cattle, horse„ sheep or hogs, to remain in, or
near, or to pollute any stream of water used by the inhabitants
of said city anywhere within ten miles above a point where said
water is first taken by said city.
SECTION 2. Phis ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
