AN ORDINANCIC GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE OREGON SHORT LINE RAIL-
ROAD COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO CONSTRUCT A SPUR
TRACK IN FOURTH WEST STREET AND OVER AND ACROSS EIGHTH NORTH
STREET OF SALT LAKE CITY.
WHEREAS, the Oregon Short Line Railroad Company owns
practically all of the west half of Lot Four (4) in Block one hundred
and Seventy (170) Plat "A" Salt Lake City Survey, and desires to con-
struct upon said lot a spur traok in order to provide trackage facili-
ties for industries located in this part of the city; and
WHEREAS, said Oregon Short Line Railroad Company has peti-
tioned the City Council of said city for authority to construct a spur
track fron its east track, as no located on Fourth West street of this
city, into the west half of said Lot Four (4) Block One hundred and
seventy (170) Plat "A" Salt Lake City Survey;
NOW THEREFORE, im.consideration of the premises,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Salt Lake, State of Utah, as
follows:
SECTION I.
That the said Oregon Short Line Railroad Company, its
lessees, successors and assigns, have the authority and consent of the
said City Council, and permission is hereby granted to construct h spur
track beginning at a point on its easterly line of railroad as now
located in Fourth West street, two hundred feet south of the south line
of Eighth North street, and extending thence by a curve to the right in
a general' northerly direction along Fourth West street and over and
across Eighth North street, to the north side thereof, and entering said
west half of said Lot Four (4) at a point fifteen (15) feet more or less
east of the southwest corner of said Lot.

SECTION II.
During the term of this franchise the said grantee, its
successors and assigns shall be subject to the following conditions:
The said railroad track shall be laid upon and conform to the established
grade of the said streets, and if said grade is afterwards changed by the
City CoU cil, said grantee:shall change the said spur track so as to
• con 54,istothe same, and sh*I7.1 provide and keep in repair a crossing
fortkeame and all vehicles-used upon said streets, and keep the ap-
prgshes' to said track Where the same crosses said Eighth North street
and the $idetalks thereof, properly graded and gravelled, so that the
said spur' track will not materially interfere with the public travel
upon'1sad street and sidewalks. The said grantee shall also put in
and 4aintain a good and sufficient'box and waterway along or near the
curb 111.p s df said street, to permit of the free passage of water
flowing ia].ong said ourb lines.
SECTION III.
The rights and franchises hereby granted and confirmed are
for the term of fifty years from and after the passage of this ordi-
nance.
SECTION IV.
This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
