AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 609 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances
passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
relating to the Board of Health.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 609 of'the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amen4dby ordinances passed
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt fake City, Utah, on March
16, 1944; August 15, 1944; April 3, '194ti November 16, 1948; April
4, 1951; and January 29, 1952; relating` to the Board of Health,
be and the same is hereby further amended. to read as follows:
"SEC. 609. APPOINTMENTS. The Board of Commissioners may
appoint the following officers, assistants and employees of
the Board of Health, who shall receive annual salaries, pay-
able semi-monthly, not exceeding the amounts as follows:
Per Annum.
Health Commissioner $6,oOo.00
1st Assistant Health Commissioner . . . 3,390.00
2nd Assistant Health Commissioner . . . 2,870.00
Chief Sanitarian 4,764.00
Assistant Chief Sanitarian and Sanitarian

In addition to the salaries hereinabove provided for,
each nurse in the Nursing Division as above set forth shall
be paid the sum of ` 15.00 per month as a uniform allowance.
Either the Chief Sanitarian, Assistant Chief Sanitarian,
or the Veterinarian in charge of meat inspection shall be a
veterinarian.
Veterinary inspectors shall be grq.diates of an approved
veterinary school and competent grind qualified as veterinarian ."
SECTION 2. In the opinion-;of the' Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health And safety bf the inhabitants
o'f Salt Lake City that this ordinanee' shall,b nrnie effective limme-
diately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take' effect upon its
first publication.
