An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Thirteenth East Street between Ninth Soutn and Twelfth South
Streets, in Paving District No. 32, for the purpose of providing
for the grading, and guttering and curbing thereof, and constructing
drainage and irrigation system and constructing private driveways.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
doss hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 32,
for the purpose of providing for the grading and curbing and
guttering thereof, and oonetruoting drainage and irrigation system,
and private driveways, to-wit:
In Lots 1, and 103 to 111, inclusive, Block 2; 1 to 5, inclu-
sive, Block 1, Lincoln Park Subdivision; 1, Block 3; 1 and 55,
Block 2; 1, Block 1, Whitaker Subdivision; 1 and 56, Block 2; 1 and
56, Block 1, Hazelmere Subdivision, all in Block 16 A; 1 and 82,
Block 6; 1 and 107, Block 5; 1 and 70, Block 4; 1, Block 1,
Addition;

Street between Tenth South and Twelfth.South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with cement, constructing drainage and irtigation
systems of concrete and vitrified pipe from six (6) inches to
thirty-six (36) inches in diameter to carry water across streets
and intersections, and to construct private driveways (said gradin:,
to be forty-two (42) feet between curbs on said Thirteenth East
Street between Tenth South and Twelfth South Streets) , on the por-
tions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and here-
inafter described to be especially affected end benefited by said
improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the ful
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here
by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, fronting
upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land
is nineteen thousand seven hundred seventy-two and 36/100
(019,772.36) dollars; nineteen thousand three hundred forty-seven
and 36/100 (019,347.36) dollars, or two and 40/100 (02.40) dollars
per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty-two foot
roadway, there being 8061.4 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; and four hundred twenty-five (0425.00) dollars,f®E'

private driveways, or twenty-five ($25.00) dollars for each privet.

construction of which and the property benefited thereby is herein
after set out, all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and
streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost
and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the con-
tract entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement, with P. J. Moran, Contractor Incorporated, dated
the 9th day of August, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorize.

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for suoh
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there-
of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or
more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable,
or the whole speoial tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said
installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable,
and shall draw interest et the rate of eight per Dent per annum
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole

special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes
due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
