Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on the east side of Second rest Street between Fern
Avenue and Seventh North Street, on Nall Street between First
rest and Second West Streets, and on Reed Avenue between
First West and Second West Streets, in Sewer District No. 1,
for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer
District No. 1, for the construction of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Block 150, Plat "A",
Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the east side of Second
West Street between Fern Avenue and Seventh North Street, on
both sides of Reed Avenue between First West and Second West
Streets, and on both sides of Wall Street between First West
and Second West Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified pipe sewers eight (8) and ten (10) inches in
diameter (said sewers to be laid on the side of wide street,
and assessed at full rate, and in the center of narrow
streets, and assessed at half rate) , upon the portions of

said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and herein-
after described to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be espeoially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said
parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
. portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-
five hundred seventy-eight and 88/100 (02578.88) dollars;
eight hundred twenty-eight and 12/100 ($828.12) dollars, or
two and 6/100 ($2.06) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for sewer on side of street, there being
402 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; and
seventeen hundred fifty and 76/100 (01750.76) dollars, or one
and 3/100 ($1.03) dollars per front or linear foot of abuttin:
property for sewer in center of street, there being 1699.77
feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said district:, which
is the total cost end cost per front foot of said sewers,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement with Zerbe & Walker,
dated the 22nd day of July, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorised and directed to assess, in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentione.:
Sewer on Side of Street. (Full Rate)
The west side of the north 138 feet of Lot 4, the west
side of the north 264 feet of Lot 5, Block 150, Plat "A",
Salt Lake City Survey.

Sewer in Center of Street. (Half Rate)
The north side of the west 66 feet of Lot 1, the
north side of Lots 2 and 3, the north side of the east 105
feet of Lot 4, the south side of the east 105 feet of the
north 264 feet of Lot 5, the south side of the north 264 feet
of Lot 6, the south side of the north 264 feet of the west
148.5 feet of Lot 7, the north side of the east 57.89 feet of
the west 117.89 feet of Lot 5; beginning at a point 117.89
feet east of the northwest oorner of Block 150, Plat "A",
thence southeasterly 331.86 feet; beginning at a point 330
Plat "A",
feet south of the northeast corner of Block 1b0, thence north
westerly 257.74 feet; beginning at a point 66 feet east of
the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 150, Plat "A", thence
southeasterly 132.78 feet, all in Block 150, Plat "A", Salt
Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official
plate of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank
from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in
five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole au,
unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the
time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof in o,e
year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for t.e
payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth
thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective;
one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordi-
nance becomes effective; and one-fifth thereof in five years
after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any/

installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the
date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special ta.
unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, sha 1
become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate
of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in
