AY ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Eleventh East Street between Second South and Fifth- South Streets; on Thirteenth East Street between Second South and Third South Streets; on Second South Street between Twelfth East and University Streets; on Third South Street between Tenth East and University Streets; on University Street between First South and Third South Streets; on Douglas Street between Second South and Third South Streets; and on Elizabeth Street between Second South and Third South Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for the pur- pose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing thereof, constructing storm sewers across all intersections, and construct- ing cement sidewalks where sidewalks are unpaved. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing thereof, constructing storm sewers across all inter- sections, and constructing cement sidewalks where sidewalks are unpaved, to-wit: In Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 25; 1 to 26, inclusive, Block 1; 1 and 2, and 14 to 26, inclusive, Block 2, Subdivision of Block 26; 1 and 2, East Side Subdivision of Block 31; 2 and 3, Block 31; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 32; 21 and 22, Block 1; 21 and 22, Block 2, Ehrich`s Subdivision of Block 23; 5, Block 24; commencing at a point 82.5 feet east of the northeast corner of Block 32, Plat "F", thence south 1584 feet, being a part of Section 4, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, known as Univer- sity of Utah; commencing at the northeast corner of Block 24, Plat "F", thence east 1 foot, being a part of Section 4, Township 1 south, 167 �(i . -2- Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, known as University of Utah; in Lots 2, 6 and 7, Block_27, Plat "F", Salt.Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Thirteenth East Street between Second South and Third South Streets; on both sides of Second South Street between Twelfth East and University Streets; on both sides of University Street between First South and Third South Streets; on both sides of Third South Street between Twelfth East and Uni- versity Streets; on both sides of Douglas Street between Seoond South and Third South Streets; and on both sides of Elizabeth Street between Second South and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, gutterin;: and curbing with cement, constructing storm sewers of wrought iron pipe twelve (12) inches in diameter across all intersections, and constructing cement sidewalks where sidewalks are unpaved (certain of said sidewalks to be six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, and others to be five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick) , upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion: of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-one thousand seven hundred sixty-two and 17/100 ( 21,762.17) dollars; two thousand six hundre seventy-nine and 60/100 02,679.60) dollars, or two and 3/100 02.03) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixty (60) foot roadway, there being 132 Aabutting said portion of said improvement; one thousand seven hundred twenty-two and 60/100 • -3- ($1,722.60) dollars, or two end 61/100 ($2.61Y dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for fifty (50) foot roadway, including six (6) foot walk, there being 660 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; two thousand four hundred seventy-one and 21/100 ($2,471.21) dollars, or two and 8/100 ($2.08) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for fifty (50) foot roadway (without walk) , there being 1188.08 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; three thousand three hundred sixty- six ($3,366.00) dollars, or two and 55/100 ($2.55) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty (40) toot roadway, including five (5) foot walk, there being 1320 feet abut- ting said portion of said improvement; seven thousand thirty-six and 41/100 ($7,036.41) dollars, or two and 10/100 ($2.10) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty (40) foot roadway (without walk) , there being 3350.67 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; two thousand four hundred forty-two ($2,442.00) dollars, or one and 85/100 ($1.85) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for thirty-six (36) foot road- way, there being 1320 feet abutting said portion of said improve- ment; and two thousand forty-four and 35/100 ($2,044.35) dollars, or two and 10/100 ($2.10) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for thirty (30) foot roadway, including five (5) foot walk, there being 973.5 feet sgxsimstt#sgxpxspxxtg abutting said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries of the lot:, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with P. J. Moran, dated the 19th day of August, 1912, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, fo• the purpose herein mentioned: -4- Sixty Foot Roadway, with Railway Tracks, without Walk. The south side of Lots 1 and 2, East Side Subdivision of Bloc 31; the south side of Lots 2 and 3, Block 31, Plat "F", Solt Lake City Survey; Fifty Foot Roadway, without Walk. The north side of Lots 6 and. 6, Block 25; the north side of Lots 14 and 15, Block 1; the north side of Lots 14 and 15, Block 2 Subdivision of Block 26, Block 26; the south side of the west 158 feet of Lot 2, the south side of the east 149.75 feet of Lot 2, Block 32, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey; Forty Foot Roadway, with Five Foot Walk. The east side of Lots 3 and 6, Block 25; the east side of Lott 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 32, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey; Forty Foot Roadwily, without Walk. The north side of Lots 21 and 22, Block 1; the north side of Lots 21 and 22, Block 2, Ehrich's Subdivision of Block 23; the north side of Lot 5, Block 24; the south side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 25; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 1; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Subdivision of Block 26, Block 26; com- mencing at a point 82.5 feet east of the northeast corner of Block 32, Flat "F", thence south 1584 feet, being a part of Section 4, Township 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, known as University of Utah; commencing at the northeast corner of Block 24, Plat "F", thence east 1 foot, being a part of Section 4, Town- ship 1 south, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, known as University of Utah; Thirty-six Foot Roadway, without Walk. -5- The west side of Lots 2 to 14, inclusive, Block 1; the ,east side of Lots 1, and 15 to 26, inclusive, Block 2, Subdivision of Block 26, Block 26, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey; Third Foot Roadwa,y, with Five Foot Walk. The west side of the east 120 feet of Lots 2 and 7, the east side of the west 144 feet of the north 313.5 feet of Lot 6, Block 27, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole -6- special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
