An ordinance levying a tax upon pro;,orty abutting on both sides of South Temple Str :tt from tile east lino of South State street to Third West street, in raving DistrictsNo:;. 7 and 11, for the purpose of Providing for the curbing and paving thereof. Re it ordained by the nit:;, Council of Salt, Lake City Utah: Section 1. 'r'hat said. Council does he:-eby levy a tax andpro- vide for the assessment upon thn real property hereinafter describ- ed, abutting on both sides of South 'rem le street from tee east line of South State street to Third "'Het street, in Paving Districts Numbers 7 and 11, in Sat Lake Ci ly, Utah. Said tax is levied to defray the expense of curbing and paving said portion of said street, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the curbing and paving of said street will thereby benefit the property abutting thereon, and here- inafter described to the full amount of the estimated cost thereof. Said property is to he assessed at an equal and uniform rate, in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street. et. III I The cost and expense of making said improvement is estimated at thirteen (113.^n) dollars per linear front foot, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said property is thirteen ($13.°0) dollars per front foot abutting upon said portion of said street; and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess said property in anoord.ance with the provisions of said ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned. The property hereby assessed consists of the following described lots and parts of lots, to-wit: All of lots 8 and 6, block 75; all of lots S, 8, 7 and 8, block 76; all of lots 5 and 6, block 77; all of lots 5, 6, 7 and8, block 78; all of lots 5 and 6, block 79; all of lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, block 84; all of lots one and 2, block 85; all of lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, block 84; all of lots 1 and 2, block 87; all of lots 1, 2, 3 • 1 II . -2- and 4, block RR, plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey; also beginning at the southeast corner of lot 1, block a-,lat "A",.Salt Lake City Survey, thence east thirty-three (33) feet, and beginning at the southwest corner of lot R, block 1, plat "I", Salt Lake City Survey, r' thence east thirty-three (33) feet, abutting upon said street and extending back fifty (50) feet from each side thereof, as the same appear and are shown upon the official plats of said City. The total amount of said tax to be so levied ant colieoted,at the rate of thirteen ($13.00) dollars per linear front foot is eighty-six thousand six hundred aii.. fifty-eight ($86658.00) dollars. Section C. Section 3. That the entire amount of tax so levied end assess- ed on said property may be paid by the owner of any of said prop- erty, or the entire Z174046P equal proportion of sal . tax upon any piece of property may be paid by any person on any part thereof, I within ninety (90) days from said levy, and thereafter such peeoes or portions of property affected by this tax shall be exempt from any lien or charge $ierpa x•therefor. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon aproval. Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, February 18th, 1902, and referred to the Mayor for his approval. City $e rder.
