AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION (B) of SECTION 1889,
of Chapter LX, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, as
amended by an ordinance passed by the Board. of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City on April 12, 1932, designated as bill No. 17 of 1932,
as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City on October 17, 1933, designated. as bill No. 14 of
1933, and amending said Section 1889 by adding in and to said Section
a new subdivision to be known as (C', relating to the speed of motor
vehicles and. regulating through highways.
Be it ordained. by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That subdivision (B) of Section 1889, of Chapter
LX, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake Cftty, Utah, 1920, as amended. by
an ordinance passed by the 'Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
on April 12, 1932, designated as bill No. 17 of 1932, as amended by
an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
on October 17, 1933, designated as bill No. 14 of 1933, relating to
the speed of motor vehicles and regulating through highways, be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a
vehicle upon. any street in Salt Lake City at a speed. in excess
of that indicated below for the particular district or location:
Fifteen Miles Per. Hour.
Then passing a. school building, or the grounds thereof
during school recess or while children are going to or leaving
school during opening or closing hours, or
When approaching within 100 feet of a grade crossing
of a railway or street railway where the drivertc view of such
crossing or of any traffic on such railway within a distance of

400 feet in either direction i (obstructed. •
Twenty Miles Per Hour.
In any business district as defined in this chapter
upon ae,proaching within 50 feet and in traversingan internee-.
1 tion of street: There the driver's view in either direction
along any intersecting streets within a distance of 200 feet

is obstructed, except that when travelling upon a through
street or at traffic controlled intersections the district
1 speed shall apply.

Twenty-five Miles Per Hour.
In any residence district as defined in this chapter or
At any railway grade crossing where the view is not
obstructed; or
In all public parks unless a different speed is indi_=
cated by the Board of Commissioners and duly posted.
Thirty-fiveMiles Per Hour.

is hereby amended by adding, in and to said Section 1889 new sub-
division to be known as (C), which shall read as follows:
(C) The following streets and Portions thereof as
indicsiec, within Salt Lake City arc hereby designated as
"ITIPOU0H H:ICHBAYI" and there shall be erected at the entrances'
thereto from intersecting highways and street: signs notifying,
drivers of vehicles to stop before entering or crossing such
designated streets or highways; sr_id signs shall be el,:ced as
nearly as practicable and the stoic shall be made at the Place
