AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4323 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to parks and public property.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 4323 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to parks and public property, be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
11SEC. 4323. AVIARY COMMISSION. CREATION OF. There is hereby
created in the Department of Parks and public property a subordi-
nate division to be known as Aviary Commission.
The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City may upon recom-
mendation of the Mayor appoint an Aviary Commission to consist of
six members, one of whom shall be ex-officio, the commissioner of
parks and public property, and the other five shall be representa-
tive citizens interested in the promotion of ornithology, and who
1�y shall be appointed for a term of five years, subject, however, to
"` removal by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City at any
time without cause, and shall serve without pay. i'he Chairman of
said Aviary Commission shall be selected by the members thereof
and serve such term as they shall designate. The said Aviary Com-
mission shall, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Parks
and Public Property, have the charge and management of the aviary!?

purchase and acceptance of gifts of all types and kinds of birds
made to Salt Lake City and shall with the advice and consent of
said commissioner promulgate such rules and regulations necessary
to carry into effect and discharge the powers and duties conferred
by this ordinance and shall?have such other powers and perform such

other duties as may from time to time be resolved and direct-
ed by the Board of Commissioners."
SECTION 2. In, the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon
its first publication.
