Gre- // W<U64 re///:AW Ho• sen Phillips Result l A ORDINANC 1/ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING the ordinance levying a tax for the assess- ment of property (Curb and Gutter Extension No. 480) designated as Bill No. 162 of 1976, passed on the 12th day of October, 1976. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That that certain ordinance levying a tax for the assessment of property in Curb and Gutter Extension No. 480, desig- nated as Bill No. 162 of 1976, passed on the 12th day of October, 1976, be, and the same hereby is, amended by amending Section 3 thereof to read as follows: Section 3. That said tax shall be payable in ten (10) yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of seven percent (7%) per annum payable at the time each installment is due; provided, however, that one or more of such installments in the order payable, or the whole tax, may be paid without interest within fifteen (15) days from the date this ordinance, as amended, becomes effective. After said fifteen (15) day period, all unpaid installments of an assessment levied against any piece of property (but only in their entirety) may be paid prior to the dates on which they become due, but any such prepayment must include an additional amount equal to the interest which would accrue on the assessment to the next succeeding date on which interest is payable on any special improvement bonds issued in anticipation of the collection of the assessments, plus such additional amount as, in the opinion of the City Treasurer, is necessary to assure the availability of money 170 -2- to pay interest on the special improvement bonds as interest becomes due and any premiums which may become payable on redeemable bonds which may be called in order to utilize the assessmsents paid in advance. SECTION 2. Except as hereinabove modified and amended, Bill No. 162 of 1976, passed on the 12th day of October, 1976, shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect. SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of said city that this ordinance become effective immediately.
