Shearman _- Wells '"-. Mr.Chairman . . . 'i Result Ji AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Wilson Avenue between Sixth East and. Seventh East Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same in Sewer District No. 1, upon the property hereinafter describe for the construction of a sewer, to-wit: In Lots 2 to 17, inclusive, and 20 to 35, inclusive, Seventh East Addition, Block 3, Five Aore Plat RA", Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Wilson Avenue between Sixth East and Seventh East Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a vitrified pipe sever eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve- ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here- by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street, fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and -1- I the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is nine hundred thirty-eight and 24/100 ($938.24) dollars, or 753/1000 ($0.753) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 1246 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewer, according to the oontraot entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with E. L. Gedney, Con- tractor, dated the 27th day of October, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinanoe, for the purpose herein mentioned: The south side of Lots 3 to 17, inclusive, the south side of the west 26 feet of Lot 2, the north side of Lots 21 to 35, inclu- sive, the north aide of the east 20 feet of Lot 20, Seventh East Addition, Block 3, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plate of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per oent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance beoomee effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one fifth thereo in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effeoti e, without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interes -2w aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said install- ment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes dne, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Sewer Extension No. 356. First do Final Estimate.
