An ordinance levying c a tax and for the assessment of the property
hereinafter described on Second West Street from Third South Street
to the Warm Springs, in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of
providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of providing fors
the grading, guttering and curbing and paving of a portion of said
district, to-wit:
In Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 103; 4 and 5, Block 114; 2, 3, 4 anli
5, Block 121; 4 and 5, Block 132; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 139; 4 and 5,
Block 150; 4, Block 157; 4 and 5, Block 96; part of the southeast
quarter of Section 25, Township 1 north, flange 1 west, Salt Lake Base
and iuieridian, all in Plat "A", abutting on the east side of Second
West Street between the Warm Springs and North Temple Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
land curbing with cement, and paving with asphalt (said asphalt pave-
ment to be eighty (80) feet wide between curbs and nine and 1/2 (9-12)
inches thick between Third South and South Temple Streets, and seventy-
one (71) feet wide and nine and 1/2 (9-1/2) inchea thick between South
Temple Street and the Warm Springs), the portions of said Second West
Street imams hereinafter described to be especially affected and
benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined
and eetablished that said property will be especially benefited theref-

by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of
land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance
with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronti-
ing upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of lsnd is
forty thousand nine hundred thirty-seven and 16/100 (yj40,937.16) del-'i
lays; seven thousand six hundred nine and 50/100 G7,609.80) dollars,i
or eleven and 53/100 7,1.53) dollars per front or linear foot 'of

abutting i property for roadway 71feet wide between Nobhh Temple and
�IFirst North Streets, there being 660 feet of abutting ./property withini
the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mentioned in said
district; and thirty-three thousand three hundred twenty-seven and
36/100 (033,327.36) dollars, or seven and 89/100 (07.89) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway 71 feet wide
'between lax First North Street and the Warm Springs, there being 4224
feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks
and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost
and soot per front foot of said pavement, according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said improveF
meat with P. J. Moran, dated the 8th day of August, 1910, and the
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentionel;

The west side of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 103; the west side of
Lots 4 and5, Block 114; the west side of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block
121; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 132; the west side of Lots
2, 3 and 4, and the west side of the south 99 feet of Lot 5, Block
139; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 150; part of the southeast
quarter of Section 25, Township 1 north, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base
and Meridian; the west side of Lot 4, Block 157, all in Plat "A", Salt
Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of
said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back Prom said street,
and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal
yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the
rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the tine each installment
is due, to-wit; One-tenth thereof one year after the approval of the;
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such fin-1

provement; one-tenth thereof in two years after such approval; one-
tenth thereof in three years after such approval; one-tenth thereof
in four years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in five years
after such approval; one-tenth thereof in six years after such appro-
val; one-tenth thereof in seven years after such approval; ono-tenth
thereof in eight years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in nine
years after such approval; and one-teeth thereof in ten years after
such approval. One or more of said installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at anjr '
time within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming
the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any install-
ment or the interest aforesaid, not being paid on the date the sane
becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time
said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable,
and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until
the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments
in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax un-
paid may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying
the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
