Green Neslen of Scheid Mr. Chairman Result J AN ORDINANCE Am erdinanoe amending Chapter 33 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to lioenses, by adding in and to said chapter six new sections to be known as Sections 849x1, 849x2, 849x3, 849x4, 849x5 and 849x6. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:- SECTION 1. That Chapter 33 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to licenses, be, and the same is hereby amended by adding in and to said chapter six new emotions to be known as Sections 849x1, 849x2, 849x3, 849x4, 849x5 and 849x6, said new sections to read as follows: SECTION 849x1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell, exchange, barter, give away or otherwise furnish cigarettes or cigarette papers within the limits of Salt Lake City, without first procuring a license so to do. required by Section 849x1 SECTION-849x2. The 110esee fe8,shall be $50.00 per year or any part thereof, in addition to any other license which may be required to be paid for any other purpose. SECTION 849x3. Every person desiring a license for the sale of cigarettes or cigarette papers under Sections 849x1 and 849x2 shall make application therefor to the 1.8 -1- License Assessor and Collector, and shall with his appli- cation file a statement showing the street and house number of the place where he proposes to carry on said business. SECTION 849x4. No license issued under the provision of this ordinance shall be transferred from one licensee to another, nor from the original location to another without the consent of the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 849x5. Any license issued under the provi- sions of this ordinance may be revoked by the Board of Commissioners upon notice and hearing, for violation of th ordinances of Salt Lake City prohibiting the sale of toba000 to persons under the age of twenty-one years et' age, or any other ordinances of said City or law of the State of Utah. SECTION 849x6. Any person violating any of the pro- visions of Sections 849x1 to 849x5, inclusive, shall upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $299.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not longer than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The court may, in imposing a fine, enter as a part of the judgment that the defendant in default of the payment of the fine, may be imprisoned in the City Jail for a period not exceeding Xkixtyxftingx six months. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the City that this ordinance shall become effective immediately. -2- SECTION 3.
