AN ORDINAYCE LEVYING A TAX AND FOR THE ASSESSIEDT OF
property in Paving District No. 32 (Curb and Gutter Extension No.
59) for the purpose of providing for the curbing and guttering.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Dis-
trict No. 32 (Curb and Gutter Extension No. 59) for the purpose of
providing for the grading, constructing concrete curb and gutter,
drainage system, private driveways and oiled gravel surface
two to three inches thick, to-wit:
Lots 1 to 58 incl. of Elk. 1, Lots 1 to 57 incl.
of Elk. 2, Lots 19 to 32 incl. of Elk. 3 and Lots li to 21
incl. of Elk. 5, of Liberty Heights Bub.; Lot 23 of J. K.
Shaw's East Morningside Sub.; Lots 1 to 20 incl. and 29 to
56 incl. of College Heights Sub.; Lots 1 to 19 incl. and 23
to 46 incl. of college Heights 2nd Add. of Elk. 11, 5 ore
C; also part of Lot 11 of Elk. 11, 5 Acre Plat C; Lots 1 to
16 incl. of :ilk. 1 of Normandie Heights Sub. of Elk. 30, 5

This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading,
constructing concrete curb and ;;utter, drainage system, private
driveways and oiled gravel surface two tt� xinches thick,
acid pot,dViay to be thirty-six (36) feet between curbs with twenty-
four (24) inch gutter on both sides of 13th South Street, Sherman
Avenue and Harrison .Avenue from 13th to 15th East .treets,and on
14th East Street from 13th South Street to Harrison '!.venue, the
portion. of said streets opposite the .property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially benefited by said improve-
ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here-
by assessed at an eoual and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, fronting
upon and to the entire de pth back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Thirty-two
Thousand. Three Hundred Seventy and 41/100 ($32,370.41) Dollars;
Twenty-nine Thousand Four Hundred Thirty-nine and 41/100 (029,439.41)
dollars
Dollars or Two and 975/1000 ( 2.975) per front or linear foot of
abutting property for thirty-six (36) foot roadway, there being
9,895.60 feet of abutting property; Seventy-six and C0/100 (06.00)
Dollars for private driveways, there being four (4) private drive-
ways at Nineteen and 00/100 010.00) Dollars per driveway; One
Thousand. Two Hundred Ten and 00/100 (c1,210.00) Dollars for private
driveways, there being fifty-five (55) private driveways at Twenty-
private
two and 00/100 W22.00) Dollars for each„driveway; four Hundred.
Seventy-five and (_>0/100 (W:;;475.00) Dollars for private driveways,
there being nineteen (19) private driveways at Twenty-five and
00/100 ($25.00) Dollars for each private driveway; One Thousand
One Hundred Seventy and 00/100 (; 1,170.00) Dollars for private
driveways, there being thirty-nine (39) private driveways at Thirty
and 00/100 ((30.00) Dollars for each private driveway; within the
boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said
district; which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot
of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and ,r,a'tiinr; said improvement with J. L.
Griffith Co., Contractor, dated the 22nd day of,Ceptember, 1926,
and the City Treasurer is hereby. authorized and directed to assess,
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, Tor the pur-
pose herein mentioned.

SE:'CTION 2. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and comuleted by the Board of
Equalization and eview of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance in baying district No. 52 (Curb and Gutter Extension
No. 59) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of providing: for the
grading, construction of concrete curb and gutter, drainage system,
private driveways and oiled gravel surface f3.e4x two to inch-
es thick upon said portion- of sd streets, is hereby confirmed,
and the assessments made and returned in said coepleted'lists,
and the report of the board of 4pulization and review to the board
of Commissioners of ua1t Lake City are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION 3. baid tax shall be payable in five equal yearly
installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest on the
whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at
the time each installment is due. In the event any installment or
the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes due,
the whole anount of the special tax unpaid at the time sod instal:-
ment and interest are due shall become due and payable, and shall
draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent ear annum until the
sale of the property assessed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its publication. `__
