AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 894 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners on February 3, 1938, relating
to the police department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 894 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, as amended by an ordinance passed by the
Board of Commissioners on February 3, 1938, relating to the police
department, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SEC. 894. ARRESTS. They shall have power and authori-
ty without process to arrest and take into custody any person
who shall commit or threaten to or attempt to commit in the
Iresence of the officer or within his view any breach of the
peace or any offense directly prohibited by the laws of this
state or by any ordinance.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication. GZ
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this I p'" day of A.D. 1938.
