AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 19-3-14, 19-5-16 and subsection
(f) of Section 20-29-12 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to hours for sale and consumption
of beer and liquor and repealing Sections 19-2-10 and 19-"5 -17 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
private club beer licenses and hours for liquor consumption in
private clubs.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 19-3-14, 19-5-16 and subsection (f)
of Section 20-29-12 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1965, as amended, relating to hours for sale and consumption of beer
and liquor, be, and the same hereby are, amended to read as follows:
Sec. 19-3-14. Sale or disposition of beer between certain
hours unlawful. It shall be unlawful for any licensee or any
employee thereof to sell, dispose of, give away or deliver
any beer or to permit the consumption thereof on the licensed
premises between the hours of one o'clock a.m. and seven
o'clock a.m. of any day from November 1 to April 30, inclusive,
or between the hours of two o'clock a.m. and seven o'clock a.m.
of any day from May 1 to October 31, inclusive, regardless of
whether daylight savings time may be in force and effect;
provided, however, that when New Year's Day falls on Monday the
sale and consumption of beer on licensed premises may be per-
mitted until three o'clock a.m. of said day as an exception to
the foregoing requirement.
Sec. 19-5-16. Hours for liquor consumption. It shall be
unlawful to possess or consume liquor on premises licensed
under this title between the hours of one o'clock a.m. and
seven o'clock a.m. of any day from November 1 to April 30,
inclusive, or between the hours of two o'clock a.m. and seven
o'clock a.m. of any day from May 1 to October 31, inclusive,
regardless of whether daylight savings time may be in force
and effect. It shall be unlawful for any licensee, or operator
or employee of a licensee hereunder to permit any customer,
guest or other person to possess or consume liquor on the
licensed premises between the hours of one o'clock a.m. and
seven o'clock a.m. of any day from November 1 to April 30,
inclusive, or between the hours of two o'clock a.m. and seven
o'clock a.m. of any day from May 1 to October 31, inclusive,
regardless of whether daylight savings time may be in force
and effect. As an exception to the foregoing requirements,
liquor consumption may be permitted until three o'clock a.m.
on New Year's Day when New Year's Day occurs on Monday.

or permit any person to consume beer or liquor on or at the
premises or facilities between the hours of one o'clock a.m.
and seven o'clock a.m. of any day from November 1 to April 30
inclusive, or between the hours of two o'clock a.m. and seven
o'clock a.m. of any day from May 1 to October 31 inclusive,
regardless of whether daylight savings time may be in force
and effect, except when New Year's Day occurs on Monday in
which case the foregoing may be permitted until three o'clock
a.m.
SECTION 2. That Sections 19-2-10 and 19-5-17 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to
private club beer licenses and hours for liquor comsumption in private
clubs, be, and the same hereby are, repealed.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first pub-
lication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
