AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property on,
tall streets within the district bounded on the north by Second South

Htreet, on the east by the U. S. Reservation line, on tb.c south by
Fifth South Street, end on the west by Tenth East Street, in Sower
District N . 1, for the construction of sewers.
Bo it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tam and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District Bo. 1, for the construction of sewers,
to—wit:
In Lots 5, 6, 7 end 8, Block 19; 6, 6, 7 and 8, Block 21; 1, 2,
3, 4, 4, 7 and 8, Block 22; 4, 5, 6 and 7, clock 27; 1, 6, 7 and 8, '
Block 28; 21 and 22, Block 2; 22, Block 1, Ehrich's Subdivision, Block
23; 1 and 2, Block 2; 2, Block 1, Subdivision of Block 26, Block 26;
abutting on both sides of Fourth South Street between Eleventh East
and Twelfth East Streets; on the south side of Third South Street be-!
tween Tenth East and Eleventh East Streets; on both sides of Third
South Street between Twelfth East and Thirteenth East Streets; on the
west side of Twelfth East Street bstween Third South end Fourth South
Streets; on the south side of Second See,4.th Street between Eleventh 1
East and Twelfth East Streets; on x+.eeet siclesof Eleventh East
Street between Second South and Third South Streets end on both side
lot: Elizabeth Street between Third South and Fourth South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-
ified pipe sewers six (6), end eight (8) inches in diameter upon the
portions of said streets op>osite the property hereinhefore end here-i
inafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said
! improvement, end it 9s hereby adjudged, determined and established
that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of lend ere hereby 1
assessed at an oquel and uniform rate in accurdrnce with the linear 1
feet frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon,and to

a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said. parcels of land is nine thousand
four hundred twenty-nine and 70/100 (0,1129.70) dollars; seven thous
and six hundred ninety-one and 20/100 (47,691.20) dollars, or one and
90/100 41.90) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property{
for sewer on side of streets, there being 4048 feet of abutting prop-j
erty within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men-I
tioned in said sidtriot; and one thousand seven hundred thirty-eight
and 50/100 41,738.50) dollars, or 95/100 (40.95) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets,
there being 1830 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of
the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which
its the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, according
eto the contract entered into for the performance of said work end
caking said improvement, with A. A. Clark, dated the 17th day of June
1910, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose
lierein mentioned:

The east 140 feat of the north side of Lot 5, the north side of
Lots 6 and 7, the west 140 feet of the north side of Lot 8, Block 19;
the east 140 feet of the north side of Lot 5, the north sire of Lots
6 and 7, the west 140 feet of the north side of Lot 8, Block 21; the
east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, the east 263.5 feet of the west 2884
feet of the south side of Lot 2, the west 263.5 feet of the Beet 2884,
feet of the south side of Lot 1, Block 22; the north 313.5 feet of the
west side of Lot 5, the south 313.5 feet of the went ride of Lot 4, 1
the east i40 feet of the north side of Lot 5, the west 119 feet of the
!north side of Lot 6, the east 95 feet of the north siCe of Lot 7,
' Block 27; the east side of dote 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 28, Diet "F":
Sewer in Center of Streets.
The east side of the west 313.5 feet of hots 2, 7 and 4, the 1
l west side of the east 513.5 feet of Lots 1, 7 :eC 9 Clock 22; the
north side of Lots 21 and 22, Block 2; the north side of Lot 22, Blear
1, Ehrich's Subdivision, Block 23; the south side of Lots 1 and 2,

shown upon the official plate of said city to a depth of twenty-five

(25) feet back from said streets, end to collect said tsx. I
SECTION 2. Said tea shall become end be delinquent in five equal
yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the r<etO
of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is
due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof. one year after the approval of the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such im-
provement; one-fifth thereof in two years after :such approval; one-
fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof
in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five yearls
after such approval. One or more of said installments, in the order

din which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at y
time within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirmiicg
the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any install-
ment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same be-
comes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time saild
installment and interest are due, shell become due and payable, and j,
shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cant per annum until thei
sale of the property assessed; provided, one ur more installments, irj
the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid ;
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the
amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall t-ke effect upon eperovat.
