Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on B Street between Third and Eleventh Avenues, in Paving District
No. 30, for the purpose of providing for the grading, installing
water services and sewer connections to back of curb, and paving
thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District
No. 30, for the purpose of providing for the grading, installing
water services end sewer connections to baok of curb, and paving
thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 1 and 4, Block 128; 2 and 3, Block 129; 2 and 3,
Block 162; 1 and 4, Block 163, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City
Survey, abutting on both sides of B Street between Ninth and
Eleventh Avenues.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, tstail
installing water services and sewer connections to back of curb,
and paving with bitulithie pavement (said bitulithie pavement to
bd forty (40) feet between curbs, and to have a four (4) inch
bituminous crushed rook foundation and two (2) inch top) , the
portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and estab-
lished that said property will be espeoially benefited thereby to
the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land
are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance wit,
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street, fronti4g
upon and to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land
is sixty-two hundred twenty-three and 10/100 ($6223.10) dollars;
fifty-eight hundred seventy-nine and 30/100 ($6879.30) dollars, or
four and 54/100 ($4.54) dollars per front or linear foot of abut-
ting property for forty-foot roadway, there being 1295 feet abutti,g
said portion of said improvement; two hundred seventeen and 80/100
($217.80) dollars, or nine and 90/100 ($9.90) dollars for each
sewer connection, there being twenty-two sewer connections; and
one hundred twenty-six ($126.00) dollars, or ten and 50/100
($10.50) dollars for each water service, there being twelve water
services, the cost of the installation of which sewer connections
and water services and the property benefited thereby is hereinaft=r
set out, all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street
above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and coat
per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said im-
provement, with J. W. Mellen, Contractor, dated the let day of
July, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed t.
assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinanoe, for
the purpose herein mentioned:
Forty Foot Roadway.
The east side of Lots 1 and 4, Block 128; the west side of th-
south 150 feet of Lot 2, the west side of Lot 3, Block 129; the
west side of the south 118.75 feet, and the west side of the north
36.25 feet of Lot 2, the west side of Lot 3, Block 152; the east
side of Lots 1 and 4, Block 153, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City
Survey.

in Addition to Regular Assessment.
The east side of the south 57.75 feet, the east side of the
north 39 feet of the south 96.75 feet, and the east side of the
north 29.25 feet of Lot 1, the east side of Lot 4, Block 128; the
west side of the south 150 feet of Lot 2, the west side of Lot 3,
Block 129; the west side of the north 36.26 feet of Lot 2, the wes
side of the south 35 feet, and the west side of the north 120 feet
of Lot 3, Block 152; the east side of the north 30 feet of Lot 1,
the east side of the south 82.5 feet, the east side of the south
41.25 feet of the north 82.5 feet, and the east side of the north
41.25 feet of Lot 4, Block 153, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City
Survey.
Property Assessed for Water Services
in Addition to Regular Assessment.
The east side of the south 57.75 feet, the east side of the
north 39 feet of the south 96.75 feet, and the east side of the
north 29.25 feet of Lot 1, the east side of Lot 4, Block 128; the
east side of the north 30 feet of Lot 1, the east side of the sout
82.5 feet, the east side of the south 41.25 feet of the north 82.5
feet, and the east side of the north 41.25 feet of Lot 4, Block
153, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown
upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the tate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years afte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in

five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there
of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one
tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effectiv ;
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance beoomes
effeotive; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance
beoomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any tine within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event
of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on
the date the same beoomes due, the whole amount of the special tax
unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall

become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of
eight per Dent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are '1
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and
interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.

Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance dedicating West Canyon Street as a public
street.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That West Canyon Street, 100 feet wide and
winding along the edge of City Creek Canyon, from Second North
Street to Fourth North Street, be, and the same is hereby dedicated
for the perpetual use of the public as a street of Salt Lake City.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication.
