Shearman Wells Mr.Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying e• tax and for the assessment of property o p p y on A Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, on B Street between Ninth and Eleventh Avenues, on J Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, and on Ninth Avenue between A and K Streets (where walks are not already constructed) , in Sidewalk District No. 24, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah; SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 24, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lots 3 and 4, Block 125; 1, 2 and 4, Block 128; 1 and 4, Block 153; 3 and 4, Block 124; 3 and 4, Block 121; 3 and 4, Block 120; 3 and 4, Block 117; 3 and 4, Block 116; 1 and 4, Block 136, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the east side of A Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues; on the south side of Ninth Avenue between A and C Streets, between E and G Streets, and between T and K Streets; on the north side of Ninth Avenue between A and B Streets; on the west side of B Street between Ninth and Eleventh Avenues; and on the west side of J Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, With three and one-quarter (31) inch base and three-quarter (&) inch topping, upon the portions of said streets opposite the prop- erty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be espeoially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at en equal and uniform rate in aocordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-seven hun- dred ninety-seven and 3/100 ($2797.03) dollars, or 838/1000 ($0.838) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 3337.75 feet of abutting property Within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said distriot, which is the total cost and oost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with G. A. Heman, Contractor, dated the 1st day of July, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi- sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The west side of the north 102.75 feet, the north side of the west 115 feet, and the horth side of the east 40 feet of Lot 3, the north side of the west 40 feet, and the north side of the east 115 feet of Lot 4, Block 125; the south side of Lot 2, the south side of the west 39.5 feet, and the south side of the east 115.5 feet of Lot 1, the east side of Lots 1 and 4, Block 128; the east side of Lots 1 and 4, Block 153; the north side of the west 150 feet of Lot 3, the north side of Lot 4, Block 124; the north side of the west 113.75 feet, and the north side of the east 41.25 feet of Lot 3, the north side of Lot 4, Block 121; the north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 120; the north side of the west 113.75 feet, .4 -2- and the north side of the east 41.25 feet of Lot 3, the north side of Lot 4, Block 117; the north side of Lots 3 and 4, Block 116; th east side of Lots 1 and 4, Block 136, all in Plat "D", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, of the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shell become due and payable, and shell draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more in stallments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment become= due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. -3- SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Sidewalk Extension No. 177. First Partial Estimate. Shearman Wells -,,ti_U ,/((- Mr.Chairman Result I AN ORDINANCE An ordinance vacating East Capitol Street between the north side of Second North Street and the south side of Fourth North Street; also Apricot Avenue between the east side of East Capitol Street and 225 feet eastward; also a street without name 76 feet wide on the east side and adjacent to Blocks 1 and 4, Plat "Jr. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That East Capitol street between the north side of Second North Street and the south side of Fourth Borth Street, and Apricot Avenue between the east side of East Capitol Street and 225 feet east therefrom, also a street 75 feet wide on the east side and adjacent to Blocks 1 an. 4, Plat t"J" and extending from Fourth North Street south to a point 145.75 feet south of Apricot Avenue, be,and each of said streets are hereby vacated and abandoned as public streets. SECTION 2.
